Saw some new Callaway Woods last night (The Epic Thread)

All these swing weight issues make me happy I have found a trust worthy club maker to build my clubs. The clubs I have ordered have come out perfect in every regard (to a tenth of a swing weight point). The extra few bucks it cost me and the extra few days wait are all worth it!

Very precise. 1/10 of a SW is equal to .2 grams at the head or grip end or one piece of a dollar bill cut into 10 equal pieces.

Club Champion Custom Callaway AI Smoke 11*, Aldila Ascent 40 Gram, A Flex

Can someone with the Epic driver and/or fairway confirm if the line on the adaptor is on the bottom of the hosel or on the top? I have a few shafts I'm installing adaptors on and just want to make sure I do it graphics down. Thanks

The line goes on the bottom

I have a question to go along with this...I got my used shaft from a friend, and he played it graphics-down, so the adapter is oriented that way (the hash mark). I want to play it graphics-up, so do I need to redo the adapter if it's just a 180 degree "flip"? I've messed around with it, and I can't tell a difference with the club face between aligning the hash marks, or 180' difference between the hash mark on the club and the one on the adapter. Here's what I mean...this is how the adapter lines up with graphics-up. I don't think it matters, but someone here is surely more knowledgeable about this than I. Thanks

Ordered my Epic 3W from Golf Galaxy, on the fifth and was told two weeks at the most. The anticipation is killing me.

I have the 3+. It is killer. Nearly as long as the driver. Easy off deck or tee. Love it.

Anyone else having gapping troubles after adding an epic fairway? Don't have room in my bag for another fairway wood, but I'm looking at. 30 yard carry gap between an Epic 3+ and my current 3 Hybrid.

I had the same issue, I am going to add a 5 wood then drop an iron and go to a 4 hybrid. Not the best with the long irons anyway, so.

I used to be just 3 wood, 3 hybrid.

I was going to recommend the SZ 5 wood but check the gap going backwards before deciding..

whats the deal with the heavenwood

It's 20 degrees ( up 2 or down 1) little longer than a 5 wood (42.75) with a head that's just a little smaller than the Epic 3 wood head (170cc)

This all make sense ?

If that's the way the mark sits with the graphics up on the shaft as you like, then it's fine. You'll be playing at the standard setting. However, if you make an adjustment of some sort it might throw off the shaft graphics orientation.

I find it to be a strong 7 wood or a weak 5 wood.

Sean2 hit at the Epic event and can probably provide you more information.

It's a 5+ with a 3w shaft. Super easy to get off the deck. Launches high and comes down soft. Definitely something you want to try before you buy.

sounds like i just need to find a shaft

Thanks for this...good point on adjusting it, too. I might tinker with adding a slight amount of loft so I'll check out both orientations of the hash marks when I do that.

I'd describe it this way. If you have a 2 or 3 hybrid that you like but you want something that will go similar total distances while flying higher and coming down steeper, then the HeavenWood is well worth looking into.
