Saw some new Callaway Woods last night (The Epic Thread)

I just wonder if everyone getting these ballspeeds is swinging the same length shafts

 

If I could pick up 5 in ballspeeds and still swing a 44.75" driver then take all my money

I thought I wanted to go down .25 - .5 inch but my fitter said I was doing ok with the length I was swinging.

I play 44.75" in my driver currently. We took the shaft out of my DBD head and put it in the new driver and saw pretty much those exact gains

Hows the sound compared to the M2? I'm coming around to the more "muted" sound it produces, but I tend to like more of a higher frequency feel like my current driver has.

 

My M2 is a tour issue head with a little hot melt in it so its hard for me to compare to the retail head. I will say I do like the sound of the Callaway it has a nice solid sound to it, not a strange composite sound like some of the older Callaway heads did.

Hey, thanks for the info. Nice to see dispersion is kept in check with the distance gains :-).

 

Just kind of curious, but who gets all these increased yardage gains? I can only imagine that if I gained 1 yard for every club that claimed 'longest by far of all the other offerings' for every club line that done that in the last 20 years, I should be hitting 350 yard drives all day long. So, who's getting these yardage gains and are they at the expense of dispersion? Are these yardage gains comparisons from players that are currently using >20 year old drivers? Are these low handicappers using XX-Stiff shafts when challenged with the new driver stock shaft offerings? ..... and while talking about 8mph gains and 12 yrds more distance, what is the dispersion compared to the competing/current driver? Just curious.

 

This hype has become detrimental. If there are not 8mph gains across the board we have Epic fail.

 

Of the great "8" how many saw 8mph or more? Or can we not talk about it yet?

 

7 mph for me. 11yds of carry. At least that was the average.

Teal circles is the new Callaway driver, silver was my existing gamer.

 

My old driver was a 915 D2 so I wasn't using technology that is 15 years old with the stock rogue. I think what I benefited from was forgiveness on the mishits. My smash factor isn't off the charts, it hovers around 1.5 so maybe I don't connect with the center of the club face 100% of the time.

 

Dispersion was pretty good, if not a hair better then the 915. The one shot with the Callaway driver that makes the dispersion circle big is that one I mishit, which went just as far as my 915

 

I agree, I would be worried if the dispersion was all over the chart and I gained 5 mph of ball speed, but for this fitting I was within my intended target.

I have three of the new fairway woods. I was hitting the 3-wood as long as my old driver (XR 16). I also saw nice gains with the other two.

I had a heavier and 3/4" shorter shaft in the New 2017 Driver and increased ball speed. I posted my Trackman report in the #TheWRX thread.

Do the new fairway woods have loft and draw/fade adjustability? Is the crown similar to the driver with a gloss finish, fade to carbon fiber and green accents?

What is the profile of the HZRDUS T800? Can't find anything about it here or on their website.

It's supposed to be similar to the T1100, not sure what the profile is on that. But from what I've heard about the T1100 is it's fairly low launch and somewhat stout. Edit: The T1100 is slightly counterbalanced, and it stiffer in the handle and a little stiffer in the tip that the HZRDUS Black, will the T800 play similar I have no idea.
