Look good to me. Very S55ish, which is a good thing to most Ping iron fans. Here's a shot of my stripped down S55s:

 

 

 

 

Just realized that I am now an old man because I was more impressed with the patio and landscaping than the iron, which is impressive as well.

 

Time to go yell at those neighborhood kids who keep riding their dang skateboards in the cul-de-sac.

 

Hahahah...well, maybe I should list the patio and landscaping on the BST...lol! Comes with 4 acres and a 5000sf house that I won't need once my youngest heads off to college in September! It'll be a great deal, but Paypal only! ;)

Somebody just posted a link in the new Ping putter thread which shows the full range of new Ping products for 2017. It has the i200, the Glide 2.0, The Sigma G putters, etc. Only problem is the language barrier. I am not going to copy their link here because I'm not sure if it's allowed.

Looks good, hope they still offer PX as a stock shaft option in the US of A. Will be interesting to see if the Modus 120 is a stock option here like it apparently will be there. That will get some people enthused.

So I don't speak a lick of Japanese but from what I can logically deduce, it seems the CTP is larger with more elastomer and they distributed more weight to the toe and hosel resulting in more forgiveness and a face that's 30% thinner for higher ball speeds...

Are we seeing a larger CTP and more elastomer and no tungsten weight in the toe? I'm not seeing anything that looks like there's anything added to the toe.

Has anyone hit the 105x with a higher swing speed? I currently play C Taper 130's but swung the 105's indoors and they felt very very good. Numbers were good as well just wonder how they will play in real world.

Well in my opinion the 5 series would be the club's comparable to Ping I irons. Should have specified that.

 

I'd venture 5 series is more G comparable, 7 series is i, and 9 series would be S. I'd lean towards Ping being slightly more forgiving on each of those comparisons.

 

I have found the Ping irons to be much more forgiving than their Srixon counterparts. By an order of magnitude.

 

If you're going by hayzooos comparisons, sure.

 

I'd say Ping's SXX/iblades are more comparable to Srixon's 7 series and the I series is more comparable to the 5 series. At least from my experiences.

From the address pic above, does it look like they squared off the toe a bit and raised the transition from the hosel to the top line?

Sounds like they are talking about improved perimeter weighting, balanced weighting or whatever. Probably to justify the removal of the tungsten inserts.

 

I doubt these are noticeably better than the last few releases, but they sure do look better. That's enough for me. I'm getting the long irons to pair with the iBlades.

Have we confirmed no tungsten in the toe? It's not visible in the iblades is it?

Wait what? I'm no PING fanboy; however, what I'm seeing in PING 2017 irons and putters they might have real homerun. Every prior PING purchase I have made has been speced perfect and performed as described.

Well, the iBlade did reduce loft as well. This seems more of an even tweak.
