SuperSpeed Golf training system

Affirmative on the "2 week" warning. Hoping for sooner but it's only February. That stated, warmest winter ever around this area. I've got 6 rounds in since Dec 28th. Unheard of in the greater Cincinnati area.

CWing, you may have gotten your order in before they ran out, but they responded to my email question yesterday about availability and said they won't have any more Men's sets in until mid-March. I'll post the email if I can figure out how to!

Bummer!

I have definitely hit my plateau. 117mph is with my blue club with a occasional peak in the low 120mph. At this point I have met my goal of 115 sustained speed over a set of 10 reps. What doing the program has opened my eyes to is that its pointless and unproductive to hit more then 10 drivers in a row while doing a range session. Since I know my peak reps I can now hit 5-7 shots with a premium swing and know to take a rest and work on some 1/2-3/4 iron shots. Banging away with the big stick with a large bucket of balls might be the worse thing for you.

Most of the Players that I know if they are Playing multiple rounds a week and hitting the driver well, they do not even hit a driver on the line, much less hit half a dozen balls. A 1/2 bucket? Why, if you're swinging well and more importantly putting the ball where you want it? I did not hit a driver on the line last year after July and I know that Richard's last year in the game, he did not hit a driver on the line after June, except for his pre-round warm-up when his last ball was the first club that he would hit that day, as was mine, which was usually a driver. Banging away with a driver when you are hitting it well on the course is not only a waste of good swings, it is a waste of time with the potential for picking up bad habits or "leaving it on the line." It sounds like you're in a groove! Take it to the course and/or work on other parts of your game like your approaches, wedge/short irons and putting. Good luck :) Madison

Brilliant post and insight Maddie! I'll be using this myself and with my students from now on.

Richard's post about the non-dominant side is pure gold as well!!

I understand inventory issues that happen when a product gets "hot". What I don't understand is the lack of communication to customers who've placed an order! Delays with a heads-up are one thing......delays with no sort of explanation just piss off the buyer!

Oh well. I've always believed in intellectual property so I don't go down the DIY route (although I can understand those who do). This sort of scenario frustrates me in that I pay full price for less than full service.

My message may not have been clear so let me re-state. If you already had an order in, you will probably get your's. My specific question was "if I order today (Friday, yesterday), do you have it in stock to ship." They honestly said they had inventory but already had orders behind those. So, if I ordered yesterday (Friday), it would likely be approximately mid-March (two weeks) before they would be able to fill it.

8 weeks in with this and started protocol #2. I do not have a ss measuring device but I know a couple of things. Non dominant side still very difficult for me, dominant side smoking fast. I go to Indian Wells Tuesday and have a driver fitting w/ Trackman, so I will post my results for sure. I started at 105 and last time i measured my fastest was 113.

I got the low inventory warning and had it to my door in 4 days.

Same here, lol

I believe that it's the typical "under promise and over deliver" philosophy.

Actually a great business tactic!

I'd be very surprised if you all don't have your set by the end of this week

Hope that ya have em soon :)

I was at the range today hitting short irons and wedges. After hitting balls I pulled out the driver and hit a couple in front of my SSR. Even though my speeds during my last speed workout weren't impressive, I was logging a consistent 103 with my driver today. That's up 5-6 mph from a couple weeks ago. I also notice my wedge distances were longer today too. It will be interesting to see how far I can go with this.

For the record, I don't have the actual superspeedgolf sticks. I made my own by gluing golf balls to some old shafts I had lying around.

Go to youtube and search for superspeed golf

Bunch of videos on there. The question was, which one should the system start with?

I have just looked at this thread - I have not read all the pages. My current driver swing speed is 92 to 94 mph. I am considering purchasing SuperSpeed training system. My main question for those that have purchased, does it work and would you purchase again?

Yes so far and yes. Plenty of examples here of gains. Played this morning and hit 11 fairways, nearly all of which were at or past my normal spots despite a healthy wind all day.

I've only been at it 2 weeks, but I think from the first session you just learn what faster feels feels like. I don't know if I'll be keeping up with DJ no matter how long I stay at this, but I'm already pleasantly surprised by the early results.

Guys I just had a thought as to another way to make a safe DIY set (I am in the UK where there are no distributors of the real thing)

Most of us have a load of old shaft adapters lying around, so I was thinking of adapting the washer idea by using a longer screw to anchor the washers to the adapter. You then just need different length screws to allow you to add the right number of washers and get a tight fit. Seemed to me this should have little chance of an accident as the adapter will be applying the same forces to the shaft as it would in any club and the screw should firmly clamp the washers in place. Any thoughts?

I'm really getting eager to try this after reading all these posts. I have a set waiting to be used (I went ahead and ordered back when I heard they had low inventory), but I'm holding off starting until I finish another workout protocol (only 3 more weeks of P90 X3!) I'm doing to get myself back into shape.

Two 70g stiff driver shafts - 1.00 each.

Two new grips - 1.99 each.

7/16 washers - .96 (for the light club)

1/2 washers - 1.27 (for the heavy club)

Duct Tape - 3.99

Electrical Tape - 2.99

Epoxy - 5.99

19.18 total if you do not own tape. Which I did but fair estimate here for those interested. Anyhow I just got my epoxy today so I'm ready to set and cure these once I figure out how I want to set up the clamps so it's totally square. You can see there's a little play in the 1/2 washer, so I think I'll clamp up the shaft, make sure it's hanging straight, then set the heavy weight on a level surface below it.

So far it's not TOO homely.

I think so, and probably.

I have been at it about a month. My main issue so far is getting the speed repeatable for every driver swing during the course of play. Mind you, I have been swinging my driver like sh!t lately, but the majority of my tee balls have been in my normal spots. There have however been a few that made me say WHOOA!

And I do not completely trust my SSR. I've read a few reviews and watch a few youtube vids that say it reads about 6-8 mph high, and I tend to believe them. One of the vids I watched had it and trackman side by side, and it stayed about 6 mph higher than trackman. That said, it is a great frame of reference to see if you are gaining speed, I just wouldn't put a whole lot of stock in the end number.

Frame of reference. Starting out my driver SS topped at about 103 mph. Highest I have seen so far is 116 mph, which I do not believe, but I would believe 108-110 mph ish. Highest I have seen with the green stick so far is 130 mph, again, I don't believe it, however just by the whoosh sound, I know that stick is moving pretty good.

Hoping that if I stick with it I can get it to translate to each swing without having to think about it, right now I still have to remind myself to really get it on each swing.

So, is that just electrical tape wrapped around the washers? What kind of filler are you putting in there to seal the shaft to the washers? Did you glue the washers together as well?

I rolled them in duct tape first and trimmed the excess for some structure. Then gave it a tight electrical tape wrap because it looked cooler than the mustache tape and I could wrap it really tight.

For bonding I took some sand paper to the shaft tip and made some room at the bottom of the washers for epoxy to pool and spread. It should hold without that and I can sand it off if I don't like it.. I'll know tomorrow it's out in the garage curing now.

Count me in as another who recently bought the SuperSpeed sticks (and Swing Speed Radar). Started the introductory protocol on February 15th and I've completed 6 of the intro workouts. As a baseline, on my most recent trip to a launch monitor a month ago I was clocking in around 103-107, but most of the swings right in the 103-105 range. Carries on course had been about 240-255, so launch monitor seemed relatively accurate. My longer term goal with this program is to hit an 8% increase from 105, which would put me at 113 mph.

Prior to my first session, I hit a few balls with my driver and clocked in at 107 on the swing speed radar. This jumped all the way to 115-119 immediately following my first session. (My guess is that the swing speed radar is inflating my ss by a few mph). I have not since measured my swing speed with my driver, but I did play three times this past week in Palm Desert and I was seeing noticeable distance gains (as measured by my Garmin S3). During the second round, after my 4th SS workout, I hit GPS measured drives of 302, 313 and 315 and averaged 280+ for the round. Drove a short par 4 and the ball mark was exactly 273 yards from the tee. I followed that up on Saturday with another very good driving day. The fairways were softer during this round and I averaged 275 without much roll. No huge bombs, but I was getting solid strikes out there to 280-285. My misses were still getting out there to 265-270. Played at 6800 yards and the distance didn't cause me any problems. Temperature was in the high 50s/low 60s and there was some moisture out there for once, so I'm hoping that these gains will translate when I play at home in San Diego. I'll know more when I play at Torrey South this Thursday.

Partially followed this advice during my Sunday practice session......dried off 10 range balls and put them to one side and worked through each one in a full routine trying to visualize what ball flight I wanted. After the tenth one, went back to some 3/4 iron shots to try and groove an impact position. The 10 felt quality and full effort rather than half assing a bunch.

During each part of protocol 1, are people logging the fastest speed during each of the three swings or what are they tracking? Thanks.

My right handed speeds are a little all over the place but left handed swings are getting consistently faster in every position. Definitely felt today in the office slowing me down this evening when I did the routine, plus missed the last week in the gym.

Its not that the SSR is reading high but Trackman calculates down the club head speed to factor in the center of the face. Since you are rotating the face closed at the bottom of the swing the toe of the club is gives off the highest frequency return to the radar. SSR is actually very accurate for what it is. Next time your doing your speed training try being very aggressive with rotating your wrists and you will see a slight bump in your speeds from the toe return. Kinda cheating the radar but you will get the point. We have a Trackmans at my local range with Protrace and the widest gap I have seen was 4mph comparing to my SSR. Most are within 1-2 mph. Just factor that in next time your on a TM.

Should also be logging the last set with swing club that's the closest weight to your real driver. How fast can you swing it over a set of swings before you fatigue.

You can do that also. I don't swing my driver outside in the driveway unless I'm on my hitting mat. Too easy to damage the driveway if your a little tired.

I've just been logging the fastest of the 3 swings. For me the goal of each swing set is to get faster, so in theory it's the last one of each set.

Should also be logging the last set with swing club that's the closest weight to your real driver. How fast can you swing it over a set of swings before you fatigue.

What about just using my actual driver?

I just use my backup driver in place of middle club. No worries.
