Brutal, Brutal in California, I've heard it all now. I played South Shields yesterday, four layers on, woolly hat, mitts and I was still freezing. 0 degrees and a wind chill of -5. This morning at Billingham the greens were like bell metal and any ball landing on them just bounced way up in the air and off the back.

 

I'm watching the coverage now and I can see bare flesh and shadows. I haven't seen either of them on a golf course for 3 months.

I think it's pretty safe to assume that nobody plays golf at 0 degrees Fahrenheit.I would love to be proved wrong mind.

The kind of weather where the ball runs like the summer time...because the fairway is half frozen over.

 

It takes a particular skill set, one where you have to hit a precise approach, one that lands just in front of the green but with a sufficiently low enough trajectory that the ball runs on a little, without sticking in the bog like apron, but also and most definitely does not land on the green. A thin is useful.

Hey, it's a frigid 61* with a 10-15 mph wind. I don't see how they can be outside, much less play golf.

Other than bsc who is always yanking chains with his Tiger posts I didn't see any. I've been doing let's check results and health after these 4 events. Ya gotta admit at least it looks like the short game is sorted out.

This has to be some of the worst driving from Tiger in a long time (and that says something) Maybe TM can glue him up a model. To bad he can't control himself and use his range swing. Gets out there and tries to stay with the younger guys and starts that stupid squatting..

Not really, just par for the recent course (just that the recency isn't very recent). In 2015, his driving accuracy was under 50% at an average of around 15 yards off the fairway with his misses, which was the worst on Tour at the time.

It would be interesting to see a comparison of scores playing:

 

1) With Tiger for first two days

2) Players in featured groups of 'bigger' events

 

Just seems like quite often the featured groups flatter to deceive for the quality of the golfer playing in them. Playing with Tiger, you've to deal with a lot of other stuff with crowd movement and other things, although it's no excuse, Day and DJ should be well used to that by now.
