It's rare that i get to watch a PGA event where i've played the course, so this is really cool, having just played Torrey Pines!

Let's be honest, it's embarrassing. "He's going to win." He's not. And I'll continue to enjoy being proven right until he quits having not won.

It's like a really cringey reality show.

JK, this is a very sad commentary on how you derive your enjoyment.

TW is out there in front of millions. And you fall into the category of

People who *believe in quitting* and will

"enjoy being proven right until he quits having not won."

Cmon, JK!

Have a little joie de vivre ; )

followed tiger for a bit today.

noticed:

- jd is quite slow. many times would be wondering whats going on to see jd stepping back to re-visualize

- tiger is not short off the tee; yes sometimes behind dj, but also right there with them multiple times

- tiger would benefit from playing with rose/sned/koepka -- man, those guys dont waste any time (and had basically no following today)

- the tiger love is insane, looked like he was leading a major on sunday

And Koepka is long. Him and Rose were approx 270 out on No.10. Rose hit wood pin high. Koepka hit some iron not too much shorter.

I didn't read this section back in the Tiger glory days. I can't believe how many people come to these threads to rip on Tiger. I think the amount of people following him (even when he's not going to make the cut) is telling to how important he is and was to golf. Just look at how many people are posting in here...

Well only another 72 hours before the bois are saying he's winning next week too. Peace and quiet for a few days.

Don't want to sound like a hater, but I say he has virtually ZERO chance of winning next week.

That's my point. He's no chance. He can hardly walk off the tee box. Needless to say since he bombed again it's gone all quiet and the idiots are talking about my life?

So amusing to see the lemmings turn out for Tiger on here after 4 years of worse than average. Missed cut, they go silent until the Monday then he's winning this week.

Not this week, next week or the week after or the first week in April.

It's not so much about quitting as being honest with yourself. But when Joe public on here carries their drives an AVERAGE of 300 yards when the PGA tour average is 289.9 and repeatedly say he's going to win when he can hardly hit a fairway or pick a tee out the ground honesty is in short supply.

And it's quite funny to see the pattern. Outrageous claims made with nothing to back them up, he bombs and then I'm a tiger hater? I'm not. I'm just not going to blindly lie about the state of his game or chances of winning a tournament.

So you enjoy watching really cringey reality shows. Sick life.

And you're one of the tragic participants. "Sick" indeed.?

Well, at least Tiger got in two rounds.

Frankie let's be honest here. What were your expectation for TW for his first real event back?

Didn't think I would be seeing this horrible of a dump under, very late, high right shoulder, attempt to save with the hands crappy swing. This swing is miles steps backwards. It's end of Haney bad.

Cop out for honest. Good luck in Dubai when he doesn't win. Again.

LOL....Tiger played as well as some of the best in the world. The only reason you are setting the expectations so high is so you can use it to criticize him. No reasonable person would set the expectations that high for any other athlete who was coming back from major medical issues, long break in competition at the highest level along with a bag full of new clubs...unless you have an agenda.

I don't think there are haters of Tiger just fans disappointed that Tiger lost credibility not only off but on the course.

Most recent in golf was the 66 true worst ball scramble score on his home course where he holds the course record of 63.

Only the best golfers can even attempt true worst ball scrambles and know a 72 would be better than that course record of his.

Finally, Vijay won 22 times after the age of 40 but not after 45. At 41 Tiger is far less competitive than Vijay at 46 and may never be again with his stand up anti back strain move on his full swing. Not to mention getting loose at the top as many aging players do. Vijay has 2 2nds in his 50's and I don't even think Tiger will do that well in his 40's. Sorry, although I would love it if he plays 20 tournaments a year until 50. I don't know if his ego will allow that many disappointments but it's his only chance to win again.

Couple of nuggets from espn.com this morning:

Four missed cuts in his past seven PGA Tour events (he missed four cuts in his first 193 PGA Tour starts as a professional).

Woods has now failed to play 72 holes in 11 of his past 19 official PGA Tour starts. That's the same number of times he failed to do so over his first 16 seasons as a professional on the PGA Tour (1996-2011).

I watched most of the round with TW, JDay and DJ. There was NO energy in that group. The whole group appeared to be in zombie land. No breaks going their way. No putts going in. Serious lack of positive energy. Oh well.

Not sure why they decided to put that grouping together, other than thinking TV $'s... LOL.

Regardless it was risky and perhaps dumb in hindsight. Pairing Tiger (media circus) with all eyes on his every move, along with Day who's quirky and PAINFULLY SLOW on the course (seems like a nice guy otherwise), along with DJ who isn't know for having much of a personality = bad chemistry. Did Tiger play poorly because of the group dynamics? Probably not-- rust and/or health issues. But did DJ and/or Day play poorly because of the Tiger circus? Certainly not out of the question.

Well, you've got "TigerFan", "TigerHater" and those that just like watching a good train wreck. Put all three together and you usually end up with a pretty good sized crowd!

No hate from me man, I'd love to see him start contending again. The thought of him battling it out with a young gun like Rory, back nine at Augusta on Sunday...well that's just a golf fan's wet dream, right? But did you see his swing this week? It looked aaawwwwfffuulllllll. Big step back from the Hero. He beat a few guys, sure, but he wasn't close to making the cut. Not having the chipping yips is a big accomplishment? I should say so, as it was only a good looking short game that kept him from shooting something like 85-80.

Well, anyway, as Shilgy keeps reminding us, we'll know more in a five weeks.

Tiger still has more majors than missed cuts, right?

Yes, for the next month or two.

Golf Central last night had him down as this being his 16th so I don't know who's adding up what from when and where but I think that run is over.

Plus you've got a number of those "no cut" events he would have likely not played the weekend so that stat was kind of B.S. But, either way, still an incredible cut making record for Tiger in his career!

Colour me an optimist, but I like to think that Tiger purposely decided to enter 4 tourneys in 5 weeks as a test to his game, not because he thought he would win any of them. I think he chose venues he was comfortable with (except Riviera) so that that aspect of the game would be simplified in his return. I think and have always thought that Tiger lives for the Masters, and I postulate that Tiger wanted his every weakness exposed in these four tournaments, to himself and by consequence to others, so that he could have these things sorted out come April.
