It is 3:44 AM on Sunday morning, and I am leaving for the airport. My trip has officially begun.

 

BTW - I was dreading the 3:20 AM wake up call, but I was so excited I was wide awake at 1:45 this morning!

Went to bed early so I could leave my house by 4am to catch my flight, and was woken up by a text from Delta Airlines that my flight had been delayed 2 hours, which was going to cause me to miss my connection in Minneapolis.

 

Scrambled to rebook it and got the last seat on a connection through Atlanta. I'm going to get in 2 hours later, but at least I won't miss everything tonight like the other options would have done. I'll just have to kill about 2-2 1/2 hours in Atlanta. Guess I'll peruse the forums :)

Yeah, I was really bummed at first because the only alternatives from delta had 2 layovers and got in at 8-10 pacific. Refreshed and grabbed the last seat on the flight I'm on. A little hiccup but not bad.

I was so stressed when i went to SD earlier in the year. Travel is such a b*tch regardless and when you are going on a dream trip it makes it worse!

 

I had a connection through Ohare and the forecast for our trip was calling for the worst snowstorm of the year (they ended up closing the airport). I was panicking but ended up getting out a day early.

Damn dude! That blows, Delta has really been dropping the ball lately. They've lost their "systems" I think twice for X amount of time in the past month. I was part of Delta Meltdown 2016 too and that was a trainwreck. If you have access to the Skyclub, make a stop there and see about getting an upgraded seat for your troubles. If not, oh well! Haha.
