It's funny how each person in this thread who said something to the effect of, "hey, those irons look just like these irons," proceeded to post a picture of an iron that looks NOTHING like the Epic iron shown in this thread. C'mon guys, you're better than that!

Not knocking them at all...see my sig.

But they aren't reinventing the wheel here. They have visited this multi material closed head before and now.

Now if they brought jailbreak tech in hybrid/irons that could mind blowing.

At first, I thought these look EXACTLY like the M1/M2 irons. What's the target here? They already have Big Bertha SGI irons... and Steelhead and SH Pro for GI... and Apex Apex Pro for players.....

Why are they crowding there own market share? Unless these are somehow different than steel heads (for the better, and by a bunch) why would people spend the extra $$ for these? Would the Epic Pro be that much different than the regular Apex other than looks? Are they going to be massively more forgiving? You can only do so much..

Texan, I know you're no stranger to the Epic stuff but, how could jailbreak be anything in an iron? There is no crown? To me it wouldn't be anything more than a marketing play. What are you thinking?

I think of it has reinforcing the face. Say those two epic lines on the back go from the face to the back ( filled with something) it might be phenomenal.

Cup face x 10-- guessing nothing more.

PXG head are super thin but the entire head is fill with (im going to call it polyurethane) Thus why they feel so soft and the ball just jumps off the faces

Now in the hybrids? Would be smaller footprint than the driver but add the carbon fiber and alpha/SZ technology....boom!

However, the woods don't have the jailbreak, so they could be just be improving the 815 hybrids with some newer materials.

All of this just guessing, but I'm excited to see them but like I said they have done the multi material closed back irons before.

Boggles my mind that these irons are so ugly. I couldn't game these on that alone. I'm sure a lot of potential buyers are not even interesting in even trying them out.

I don't find they are great looking, but that is pretty common of irons in this class. I remember playing JPX825 non-pros which were OK looking. When the JPX850's came out i thought they were hideous, they were the blue-est things i had ever seen. It was an iron the dudes from Avatar would've used

Remember the Adams irons that were so ugly Adams used quotes from our website in their ads? The back of that club (i forget the name) had that red dot that made it look like someone was aiming a sniper rifle at them. Nike has released some stuff over the years that was really out there

I just think there must be some market research out there suggesting guys in this target handicap range like bright colored cavities and such, or possibly are blind

These Epic irons remind me a lot of the Cleveland VAS irons.

Not loving the irons so far so making the recent purchase of the Apex CF16 Combo set a wise move.

Very interested to see an Epic Hybrid however.....the Alpha is a fine rescue club, much in the mould of Sonartec HB001 (of which I still have one in the spares bag...)

On what planet does a SGI player pay over £1000 for irons??? Can't even brag about the looks as these are horrible. It's like the Aeroburner from a few years ago... successful woods and afterthought irons

Ever heard of PXG?

Agreed. Lots of rich hopeless golfers looking for premium GI clubs. PXG have grabbed a fair portion of that market and other OEMs like Callaway are looking to follow suit.

Tough to charge premium prices for an iron that looks this cheap.
