Turn around time for BST shipping

Dpak05

Recommended Posts

I purchased some shirts on last Friday night from BST.

I reached out to the seller a few times for tracking and as of Wednesday, he said he would ship the items later that day. It's Friday now, sent several messages for some updates but radio silence.

No clue if the seller shipped the items yet or not. I'm going to assume not, because I've received no tracking number and paypal is not updated as well.

Should I give it a few more days before I consider a charge back on paypal?

Personally when I sell stuff, I update the buyer with any necessary information and ship within a "reasonable" amount of time.

Update:

The seller is @cookie3434

I just received the shirts today and they are not up to par. A white FJ shirt was advertised as brand new with tag, but definitely stain ridden. The tags are ones where you can take off and reattach to the button. It appears the seller tried to wash it as the stains are faint, but still all over.

I always ship the same day or the day after you have sent the funds as the seller. I expect a similar turn around time as the buyer unless you tell me when we make the deal that, "it'll be a few extra days before shipping because of XYZ."

I'd say give him the weekend and then go from there. Gent could be busy or whatever. Typically, people have the weekend to get whatever done easier than the weekdays.

Everyone is different - when I sell I always put item will ship within 2-3 days. I hope to under promise and over deliver. But one thing I always do - I keep the other party informed every step of the way. Its the easiest thing to do. People that do not communicate drive me bananas. Id give it thru the weekend, if no movement then you force his hand and file dispute. 10 days is plenty of time to have done something. JMHO.

PS. MAKE SURE YOU LEAVE APPROPRIATE FEEDBACK SO THE REST OF US CAN PROCEED WITH CAUTION

I agree with Helmet...communication is the key. I start communication as soon as money changes hands and don't stop until item is received and buyer is satisfied. I probably give too many details, but I know how excited people are when they buy something and want to know everything is going smoothly.

I've also been on the other end and had things come up on the seller's end when I've been a buyer and there have been some delays in shipping, and as long as they keep in touch I'm ok with it.

It's not hard to send a 30 second update.

With on line shipping, there really is no reason for shipping time to extend beyond 24 hours of payment received. With UPS, FedEx and USPS anyone can create a label, pay and arrange pick-up without leaving their computer screen or smartphone. If convenient for a seller to immediately accept payment, it should be equally convenient to immediately ship.

Thanks!

I bought from a guy before xmas. He couldn't shipped out before xmas...I understood. Said he got sick before new year's and couldn't ship out before. I semi-understood. Shipped it out a few days after the new year. Got the item. Not entirely pleased with the shipping time, but ended up getting over it. It helped it was snowing outside. I never left negative feedback, but probably should have.

I ship as fast I can and expect others to do so as well. It doesn't always happen that way and I get it. We all have lives. No communication isn't excusable though.

There are a few guys here that I won't deal with anymore for just that reason. Quick responses all the way up until the item is paid for. Then radio silence or, responses a day or 2 later. Then the items shows up 14 days later and I'm just irritated by then.

*EDIT* Twice it happened over some clothing with the same user too. The stuff did show up and it was fine. Just didn't like the way it was handled.

I don't expect next day shipping but i expect good communication. Sometimes it's hard to find a box for a club but shirts? A week is a little much with no explanation.

Perhaps the seller should have available boxes at the time of listing. Listing an item, then selling and then start looking for a box is unacceptable. I would cancel a sale if someone pulled that.

Agreed, if you aren't ready to box up the item and ship within a day or two, don't list the item.

When I sell something I do everything in my power to ship the next day. Heck I just sold something last friday and a half an hour later was in a horrible car accident. I t-boned a girl that ran a stop sign. I could barely walk and I still waddled my sore butt to the post office to ship. I let the buyer know right after the accident that it may be a couple days before I shipped but I couldn't bring myself to make him wait that long. If he has been online on this site and has not responded to your messages I would be a little more than worried. Good luck and hope all works out for you.

Out of interest OP, since you opted not to out him at this point, what's his feedback situation? And is he a longtime member or newer one?

I might be inclined to be a little more understanding if I was dealing with a veteran seller/member. More trust already built into the deal.

If the seller was a newer one who lacked feedback odds are good I would press the issue and take a little more control over the situation by filing a dispute. Some might disagree but a member since 2009 with 10 feedback rates more patience than one who joined last Tuesday and has 0. Just my take on it.

Im not implying taking 3-6 days to find a box lol. But I don't buy and sell a bunch of clubs so I don't ever have boxes on hand, I always get them once the item has been bought. Never had a complaint about my shipping time.

I agree.

I don't sell many items but once the buyers funds have hit my Paypal, Venmo or Google Wallet account I create the USPS or FedEx label. If I don't arrange for a pickup, both have locations within a couple of miles from my house. I'll drop the item off the same day or next day at the latest.

I ask the seller when they will ship. I'm ok with 48 hours but I ask either way and make them accountable. 48 is my limit 24 is a bit much. If you buy Friday shipping on Saturday could be tough to get away if they have a family. Just because you can do this online doesn't mean people do. Bottom line is shipping not their method

At this point no reason not to wait till Monday. But that would be my personal deadline. You've been more than patient already.

Just received the shirts today, and definitely not up to par as described.

The seller described the item as brand new with tags for at least 2 of them

1 shirt has stains all over it and looks definitely worn. Going to file a charge back.

Whereas before I sort of understood you not wanting to tell everyone who your seller was. But now, the whole point of a thread like this is to warn other sellers about a bad deal. And your seller can certainly be afforded the opportunity to come on in and explain what happened. But late shipment and items not as described? Sounds like this seller isn't someone I would personally want to deal with.
