Kerr apologizes for slow play in Playoff

If this was the first time she was excruciatingly slow, I'd give it a pass. Heck, Inbee took too long on a few holes, but that's not her norm. Cristie is one of a handful of players that have raised slow play into an art form.

I played yesterday during the afternoon and it was sustained 30 mph+ with gust to 40 mph. Went to eat and walked out at 7:30 ish. The winds were still blowing as much as they were when I was playing earlier.

Kerr should have stopped tweeting after the 2nd tweet where she apologized but she had to go on to assign blame to Nomura as well. The final two tweets show her to be in denial and maybe out of touch with where she really stands in terms of popularity on the LPGA Tour.

I'm close to the Wyoming border. It blows here, a lot. I played today and a gust, probably 25mph caught me mid swing and blew me off balance. Those girls, 40 damn near blows them over.

She was pretty much going for shots over and over from the trees that put her in some tough spots, but I enjoyed watching her get after it.

 

She was driving my wife crazy with all the chatter (but then she's a tennis fan and I pointed out Christie didn't make bizarre and random screams every time she hit the ball).

 

Can't imagine being under Christie's thumb or anything else (!) - seems too demanding and prone to giving orders for a sensitive soul like myself.

 

Not a big fan, but I was pulling for her yesterday - mostly an age thing.

To be honest, not really.

 

But unlike most on here, I am not offended that she is slow. I don't act as if you're a slow player on Tour that you deserve the same punishment as selling nuclear codes to the Russians.

 

I understand most on here play and walk hilly 18 hole golf courses in under 90 mins, and anything over that, you should be tarred and feathered at high noon the next day.

 

But I am not like that.

It was gusting 40 for sure. #18 at Los Colinas CC is a stupid hole. Takes a perfect drive with a lot of luck just to hit the fairway. I will agree...slow play sucks.

She's a very good golfer. Lots of preparation for each shot. Nicklaus was the same, and very slow also.

 

It was a playoff for a championship in demanding conditions. She earned her way to be in that position.

 

Doesn't make for great tv, though.

It depends on which tweet you read. In a couple of years as the story is retold it will have been blowing 60 MPH.
