Accra Tour Z Extreme

Recommended Posts

I recently did a full bag fitting at Club Champion (very cool experience) and was fit for an Accra Tour Z Extreme 265. Does anyone have experience with this shaft? What would be a comparable shaft to it? There's not a lot of info on it and I'm looking for something comparable that I maybe able to pick up a little cheaper. Thanks for any help.

Everyone I know who has gotten fitted at Club Champion has, at the very least, had an Accra shaft recommended to them.

My junior buddy is on his second Accra shaft from CC (his grandfather is happy to foot the $400 bill for him).

I'm not saying Accra shafts aren't good, but I *am* saying it seems quite fishy that this comes up time and again with Club Champion. Are we to believe that certain shafts are better for amateurs than for tour pros, and that this just *happens* to be an Accra shaft after every fitting?

Accra shafts are harder to find on the open market and also carry a premium price tag (and a higher profit margin) for Club Champion.

This is clearly an incentivized recommendation.

(And frankly, f*ck Club Champion. Their prices are high on everything, and your fitting is only as good as your fitter. In my experience, 1 out of 50 fitters truly knows wtf he's talking about.)

Also had a buddy who got fit into Accra shafts for driver, fairway wood, and hybrid at club champion. Essentially once they fit you for the driver shaft, they tend to lean towards the similar shafts from the same manufacturers for fairway woods and hybrids. I also know two other people who went to club champion but got fit for Fujikura and Aldila shafts...so it isn't quite everyone.

It's basically like a Diamana Blue Board 63, or 73 depending on your flex (M3, M4, M5) You'll get a much less expensive shaft, but still a quality product. What you won't get is that Accra feel. I've had one (XE Axiv series) in my driver, 3 wood and hybrid and it didn't matter which heads I used, it felt phenomenal. Good luck finding that magic shaft!

I'm 99% positive they are the #1 account for Fujikura...

I agree with aussieb , nothing has the feel of an Accra when fitted properly . I have been using on and off for the past 10 years.I have SE80's in my fairways, and Z Tour ST/LS's in my driver and fairways .

I don't know what flex you need but I do see a few of these on eBay in X-Flex for $189 from a good seller which isn't too bad.

Interesting I was also fit into an Accra Shaft at Club Champion (X465 M4). I didn't have the $400 to spend on the shaft, but using the specs on the Accra website I was able to get an Aldila RIP'd NV 65 shaft that had pretty close specs. Cost for the shaft with a Taylormade adapter was $70.

Not sure whats specs you used, but if using the typically published weight, flex, and torque, the 2 shafts can still feel/perform quite differently depending upon swing characteristics and golfer sensitivity to feel.

I'm hoping this worked for you, but certainly know this wont work for all.

Love Accra shafts! Been playing Tour Z ST for the last few years and still loving it, but want to try the Tour Z Extreme and also the RPG. Has anyone hit the RPG?

I hit it at the PGA show. It felt incredible! It launches a little higher than the Tour Zx with about the same spin. It has a pretty stout price tag though. $750 MAP!!!

Anymore reviews on the Accra Z Tour Extreme (200)? Saw some videos that this is a very good fairway shaft.

And I'll agree with their assessment. The Tour Z family is as smooth as any shaft I've ever swung. I played a Tour Z RPG in a driver and have only recently replaced it with a Kiyoshoi Black due to marginally better numbers from the Black. I still have one shafted into a Exotics CBX 15* 3 wood and will play it whenever the course conditions dictate. The epoxy is drying as I type on a RBZ2 (my 2nd favorite fairway head) 3 Tour (14.5) with the Tour Z 382 M5. Looking forward to seeing how it'll work out.

The answer to better golf is work your butt off and learn how to hit it better, farther, and make more putts.

Thanks man. I think I am going to try that shaft or I was going GD AD DI or IZ in a M5 15* head.

I know the AD DI gets a ton of love here on WRX and it's well deserved but if you can get your hands on the Tour Z in any of it's various forms, you will like it better.

400 series lowest launch, lowest soin

200 series high launch, high spin?

i continue to enjoy the Tour Z ST’s which I think would be like the 400 series Tour Z extremes
