Weather is great actually, overcast but no rain.. Course looks incredible

 

Wish Rory was playing a little better but watching Rahm hit a ball is awesome, he is playing great golf at the moment..

I see Danny Willet has retired again. Really pisses me off when pro's do this, there are dozens and dozens of tour pros who would love to have been in that field and would not have given up because they were playing poorly.

One of the main reasons I like Paddy he was hitting it off the map and would laugh it off...accepted change is difficult. Is Willet still a Cowan pupil? If so, wth are they working on?

McIlroy done and dusted and on his way to another MC Hammer at his home event. Finding Rory to be the most frustrating player to watch these days. You know genius is in there but it increasingly seems to struggle to find its way out.

I see Danny Willet has retired again. Really pisses me off when pro's do this, there are dozens and dozens of tour pros who would love to have been in that field and would not have given up because they were playing poorly.

no idea what they are working on, but whatever it is doesn't seem to help. It almost seems that when some players win a major or become world number one something changes and they just cant find their game again.

Agreed. Roe is the weakest of the Sky commentary team and generally repeats one of ten stock phrases over and over. He's right on this issue though. No excuse for not shouting.

 

On a different note, I haven't seen Harrington play for a while. Looks like he has the Gary Player walk-through thing going on after each swing.

Ya idk what it is with Rory. Tee to green the game seems pretty solid, just cant get anything going with the flat stick. I also think he focuses too much on the Majors at the moment. Its almost as if hes forgotten that you need to be playing well going INTO the major to win most times. Not many people find their game the week OF the major...

Harrington is something else. I have the golf on in the background whilst I am in the office. I promise that I am working as well but when I caught Harrington doing his little shuffle, I was genuinely surprised at how surprised I was. The guy will try anything!

Admittedly Rory doesn't appear to be putting very well, but other than distance where he is 6th on the European Tour, putting is not bad statistically where he ranks 32. Driving accuracy he is 100 and greens in regulation he is 54. Obviously the driving accuracy has a lot to do with GIR but he sure doesn't seem to have his yards right with the new irons...many times winds up short even from tee. He may not have "liked" the Titleist ball he was using but had better numbers than the TP5 ball. Wasn't like he had significant rounds with either ball or irons but so far not so good.. Too bad seems to be wasting what should be his prime years playing indifferent golf.

He's in his absolute prime and yes he's picked up the big 2 injuries. However, I really think he needs to take a long hard look at himself. He'll have wasted 2-3 years of his career due to the multiple equipment and ball changes. From the outside it looks like he's chased the $ instead of the wins, bwtf do I know.

 

He's always been streaky with the putter, however he found something at the end of last year with approach shots and putter and he's fobbed it off.

 

As stated his approach shots appear to be all over the place in distance from the pin. Harder to putt when you are over 30 feet away when having a wedge in your hand previously.

 

Also think he should switch his caddie up, but again what do I or any outsider know

Rors looks indifferent to me..like he doesn't care to be there at all. Right now he's putting like a blind man and nobody wants to be playing when you are putting like than other than a sandbagger.
