Must be pretty soft as they appear to be quite scratched and dinged already. Didn’t remember his 2014 MBs looking that beat up, maybe harder chrome?

Milled on site like the Rory & Rose Protos

 

Or forged with plating P730 irons

 

 

It looks like the metal they used for the milled-on-site version was pretty soft

Tracking shows my P730’s are set to be delivered today. I’ll be sure to get a review up for you guys after I get my rounds in.

Set is a 5–9, Golf pride velvet grip (+1 wrap on lower half of club), standard lie, c-taper x flex

From the early pictures, the forged plated version he had was a standard P730 set with DJ just stamped on them like us peons would have. The DJ Proto satin irons were the milled in-house version. Either the lighting in those pictures added reflection to the satin finish or he got a 3rd set of chrome DJ Proto irons.

The only TM irons I have really ever liked were the old Smoke MBs. Those things were classy as f*ck.

 

These irons though, holy sweet baby jeebus. They are extremely good looking. Although I do agree with Ricks complaint about the font. It just doesn’t really go. But overall, if I wasn’t such a Mizuno whore, I would seriously give these a chance!

67 in very tough wind... impressive... and that was missing a 4 1/2 footer a professional should make 10 out of 10 times on Hole 4. DJ really lost that tournament drastically... shot a 77...all he had to do was shoot 71 and he still wins by 3. The battle of the 730s...Rosey won.

He might, but his iron play on the first three days was very good. Unfortunately, it was his ball striking,iron play, and putting which evaded him on day four. Knowing he shot well with them 3/4 days, I personally wouldn't blame the irons, I think he just doesn't play well in complex winds.

Got to hold the 7 iron head Saturday - compared against the MP-18 blade. 730's looked ever so slightly more compact. What I didn't realize - these have a slight milling on the face (at least the demo I held did). Reminded me of my old tour issue RAC MBs.

Very true, however the Apex MBs will be unmatched in forgiveness. That muscle near the bottom will have no competition. Possibly MP-5s.

Beautiful. Intimidating for a High handicapper like myself but, great.

 

Between the MB versions of the new Titleist, Callaways, JPX 900 (obviously not new), and Mizunos, I felt that the Titleist were the easiest to hit out of the middle for some dumbs reason, followed by my MP-18s, JPX then Callaways. I would love to give these a whirl.
