Just curious but why do you feel this way? The only reason I ask is because I feel like the Mizuno JPX Tour is the complete opposite type of club when compared to the P730. Why would Brooks want to move away from a club profile that has been successful for him this year to a completely different traditional, bright chrome blade.

Well first, I'd imagine he'd play a satin finished P730 much like the Rors-Proto and DJ-Proto are.

 

Also, the Mizuno JPX900 Tour in every sense of performance, forgiveness, feel, etc. is a blade iron. It shows no differentiating qualities in 1,000's of fittings from the Titleist 716MB.

 

Last, he's good buddies with Dustin Johnson, and you know he's gonna be hitting some of DJ's stuff.

 

I just think from a big hitting athlete perspective, he fits the bill perfectly for TM's stable of staff members. Could be wrong.

Never owned or used a Taylormade club in my life until last week when I got fitted for an M2 driver, these irons are just beyond...As said above the top line is near perfection.

It says they took the Taylormade blades over the years and changed shaping and mass properties - so it really wouldn't surprise me if TW had input on them. He has always been someone who championed the concept of keeping CG at the center of a blade and not heel side.

 

Also just noticed 47* PW - couldn't be happier with the very traditional lofts of these :)

yeah, I noticed that after I posted.... didn't mean to go off on a tangent there. I really like the looks of both of these new irons coming out. Surprised they are less than the P750's.

Wow I was dead set on the Titleist 718 MB's... but wow these look amazing. I have been a huge Titleist fan and recently I got an M2 driver, totally worth it. Played my best 3 rounds of golf ever with the TP5 golf ball that I found and decided to use. Now with these blades I have no choice but to get those based on looks...

Serious iron releases coming up this fall! Big competition between mizuno, titleist, and TM! Taylormade really up their game here on the iron front! Mp-18 vs P-730'is a tough one! Can't wait to test! Definitely thinner top line on p-730 they are gorgeous but would need combo set in long irons.

Haven't seen any reviews. Crossfield said TM sent out 790s, but not 730s. I did see this video today, which explained a bit more than what I had previously read:

Wouldn't be surprised if Tiger had input, alot of people say he's smarter than he lets on about clubs. However I doubt he will play these, at least not the standard set. He said they would sit down and create his own set that fits his eye. Not that TM couldn't do this for another player, but if he does play a "P730" I'd bet it would have weaker lofts, probably shaped a little differently, etc. I could see them doing a limited run of a "TW" blade, or he could just play a special version of a P730 (similar to when Nike had him in the TW Vapor Speed, cosmetically the same looks, but definitely a different club.)
