Not sure who got selected to go on the TaylorMade Forged Experience trip next week, but they are certainly in for a treat. What a great family of forged irons TaylorMade has for 2018.

I am curious if the production model will be forged carbon steel, form forged 8620 carbon steel, cast 431 stainless steel, or the current material used by Rory which is cast 304 stainless steel.

 

I could have sworn I read that the Proto models were all milled stainless.

 

Yes that is correct, they are all milled from 304 stainless steel.

 

I am curious if the production models will still use the same material or if they will use something different. My bet is on the latter.

 

Full milled is really expensive. I'm betting they will be s25 forged steel.

I LOVE my 770's but it looks like I need to tell my wife we are getting a new set of knives for Christmas. Man, I can wait to see her face when I open them on Christmas morning and say "wait what, there's a shaft connected to these butter knives!"

I also saw on Twitter, that Tomo Bystead has confirmed that these are a forged out of 1025 carbon steel

And DJ will be switching to the new P730 irons when? Not anytime soon would be a very good guess. Maybe by the Masters, certainly not this year...Still think the 14 MBs look better anyway, not that shiny finish..

These are awesome. I like them more and more each time is look at them. I've played blades for a very very long time and if these came out before I got my 750 tour protos I would probably bag them in a heartbeat. With that being said I love my 750 and like that on a off ball striking day the 750 help with that. Taylormade the p700 line is awesome too to bottom and the 730&790 additions are great. Keep killing it TM.

Yeah, you're right. They are hella nice irons but my p750s cost enough already and I might add a p790 3 iron. Maybe one day if I can get TM to send me a set to test out.

Same thing with his Milled Grind Wedges in regards to Bounce (he'll have his normal Tour Issue X-100's for the Irons/S400's for the Wedges & GP TV Cord grips) & will guess he'll have the P790 UDI 2-Iron with the PxI in it.

So, the TW logo isn't Nike property and it's owned/licensed by Tiger? I guess I always assumed it was a Nike thing, but it would look awesome on a set of 730s...
