Sorry if I missed this, but did anyone of you go from the 2017 M1 to the new M3/M4? If so how did they compare? Thanks.

I played the 2017 M1 440 at the beginning of last season and the M1 460 for the overwhelming majority of the season. I was fit into the M4 and found it to be an improvement on the 2017 M line in literally every way.

Dewey......you recommend 790 or M4 as a replacement for PSI forged tour long iron? Not a hybrid fan even though I'm old and beat up mind you.....oh short, lowball hitter....ugh!!

I would say it's best to demo each if possible, but the M4 iron launch and distance is literally extreme. If you 're looking for hybrid-like flight, the M4 is what you want. The 790s are awesome, but won't give you the incredible distance of the M4. I was surprised at how nice the M4 felt at impact as well. It's nothing like a solid forging or player's iron by any means, but it's got a pleasant sound & feel for what it is.

Did any of the TM guys talk about their personal games and the impact of changing clubs so frequently? They're the ultimate WRX'ers as far as changing clubs and I'm sure that every time something that could assist comes into play, it's immediately in their bag. Would imagine it's a bit of a challenge getting any consistency with all the options available!

Great write-up! Sorry to hear of your travel difficulties! That sucks, especially when you're run-down and under the weather.

I'm impressed with your photography bro, you almost give Calvin a run for his money. I especially like the photos of Cristie and Anna's lockers, but what the he!l were you doing in the women's locker room??? ?

@Gamble: How did you end up in Atmos when there are so many new good shafts to choose from? Was that your starting point?

We started with Tour AD-DI 6X (what I had in my gamer when I got there), tried the Tour AD-DI 7X, then moved to the Tour Spec Atmos 7X. We tried a few others but my violent transition and tendency to hook led to the setup we went with.

Thanks for the kind words. Their lockers are in the men’s locker room, but when I saw their names I panicked and thought I erroneously went in the ladies locker room.

The travel difficulties were well worth it for the trip.

PS I owe you some money from getting killed in our match, let me know your PayPal or Venmo and I’ll fire that to you ASAP. Let’s get out sometime when the weather breaks.

From what I saw on the course I think you have to be a low single digit to work at Taylormade. I hear even the janitors are sub 5 hcp.

Mark was playing a prototype M3 driver and Scott used a 100g Ahina X from Sergio. Mark was using the P730s, which look even better in person than online. Scott also mentioned that he switched from the M1 irons to the P790s which he was gaming when we played. I have never seen an AM hit shots as tight as Scott did with the p790s on his approach shots. They both had M4 4 irons that they hit missiles with.

I did notice one of them (name redacted) has stuck with their older generation spider putter. Which makes sense, why try to fix what isn’t broken.

It does seem like they thinker just like we do, but it seems like everyone that played used a full TM bag.

I didnt hear what lofts the High Toe was coming out in. I know that they only had a 60 and 64 for us to demo. That could be causing some of the confusion.

I can attest to the ball speed and precision that Mark and Scott played with. Mark hit a ton of tee shots with that m4 4i and he was just killing it. Scott used his driver more often, but did say constantly, "I shouldn't hit driver here, but let's have a little fun.". Then he would lace out a perfect draw that would be on a great line but occasionally was too far. He blasted through the fairway on a dogleg at least twice, but it was definitely due to a 'screw it, hitting driver is fun.' mentality, not from a lack of game.

Is this year m3 440 suppose to be more forgiving then 2017 440?

There's twice the amount of CG movement. So it may be easier to find a setting that works.

Two weights, split back, increases MOI 10% vs. M1 17'.

Great info, thanks man! Did they say anything about the Sergio split and the fact he signed with Cally?

The only thing I remember them saying is that they don't think he'll have any problem with the woods and irons because he is such a good ball striker and can make any necessary adjustments, but the ball is going to be an issue.

I wonder about Sergio with Callway, too. I think they'll eventually find a ball that suits him, since I presume there are many iterations of the Chrome Soft and Rock Ishii is on board now. But I was curious about him going to the Apex MB. He had played cavities for almost a decade; I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the Apex Pro or next Apex Pro iteration soon.

I think the new chrome soft X golf ball could fit the bill for Sergio. No doubt he’s adapted to the irons and woods pretty well. I hear the new ball performs better in the wind. We will see.

After all of the extra work he had to do for my driver, he said let's take a look at the rest of the bag. I hit most of my clubs and then he started handing me others to try. This is what he liked for me.
