The guy is scrambling like prime 1980's Seve at the moment. I would not describe that as "finished." Health is the biggest question mark with him. If he can stay healthy, he will figure out the other parts of his game.

And you're correct, and I threw the "two wins" in loosely knowing those remarks, and meant it more so of a "right now assumption" compared to last year.

 

I wasn't trying to pimp out Tigers game, but more so express that we currently have a stud in Dustin and then a bunch of really good NFL running backs at this current time, that can be shifted in and out each weekend. Maybe that will change in a few months and all of a sudden Dustin and Jordan and Rory all win say 6 events in 8 or 9 PGA tour events, and that's where I think, starts to just eat away and Tiger and lessen his chances of climbing the ladder.

I think it's easy for Tiger (or even Phil) to continue to try and improve and compete each week, knowing you have a good shot each week, assuming guys don't just gobble everything up, when you don't have the game you use to have,.

 

Not to bounce other sports into it, but using Federer as an example in tennis. When he went cold in his major victories, it was a time when three other tennis players just ate up all the majors, which would of been a tough battle for Federer, it looked over for him almost.

But, it broke open, Nadal went down with injuries, Novak started to fall and Andy Murrey fell a bit flat, and that is why (without not trying to knock Federer) Roger Federer was able to win another major and continue to still win so much, because those guys have fallen the the up and comers haven't jumped in.

 

I personally don't think Tiger will win this year (if I had to use my own voice) but if he stays healthy and starts playing well, I like his chances much much more than I would Brian Harmon or Adam Hadwin to win again before he does.

Other than the big crowds, Big Cat is getting a dose of what the average PGA player goes through every week. Struggling to make the cut, struggle to climb the leaderboard on the weekend, etc. That kind of grind has to be tough for Tiger who for years just had to show up in order to make the first page of the leaderboard. I hope mentally he hangs in there.

Only because his scrambling is gold like this week so far which is unsustainable, He has hit the ball like a 15 handicapper and there is nothign to suggest he has a clue what he is doing with his swing. He will miss cut after cut if he hits it like this in future.

Remarkable how much worse the tee game is compared to Hero. Totally different course and situation, but still. Short game and putter are still classic Tiger but sooner or later these big misses are going to end up on the wrong side of the stakes.
