Played 9 with the Epic Flash Std. 9 deg. head yesterday. This will be a big game changer for me. I had balls plugging (wet fairways) were they usually roll out too. Played with the Tensel in X set at -1/D with it in neutral weight setting. Tight dispersion. Miss hits were very long.Shot pattern was high draws which made me very happy.

anyone know the story behind the even flow green in the new flash fairway woods? how does it compare to the even flow blue? on the PX website both are listed as mid launch mid spin but the green is maybe slightly lighter flex for flex/weight for weight.

would the Tensei blue in the fairway compare similarly to the even flow blue that was in the rogue driver?

EvenFlow Green is the light, higher launching and spinning stock option that TT/PX ginned up for Callaway to put in the Flash line. It bears no resemblance whatsoever to any of the EF shafts that came before it.

EvenFlow Blue and Tensei AV Blue have quite similar stiffness profiles. The loss of stiffness as you go down the shaft is quite linear in both.

Pretty interested in the sub zero fairway, looks like a slightly improved rogue with ability to change shafts which appeals to me. Wish ping would give an update on their fairways to help decide

Ping G400 Max 9* Tensei Pro Orange 70TX
Ping G400 3 crossover Alta stiff
Callaway Apex 4-SW recoil 780 stiff
Cleveland cbx 60* recoil stiff

thanks. sounds like the tensei blue would be good for the 3W with the EF blue in the rogue

So is Callaway waiting until the 11th to plug the custom shaft options in for the new '19 irons?

So far just showing the standard offerings.

Not a ton of changes really. A few added in the graphite category and a few in the steel.

Anything of note in graphite? I was trying to hold out for the evenflow t1100 possibly being on their. But, I realized, that if it was, it probably would have been advertised as a stock option.

I had the opportunity to play the Flash SubZero for 18 holes yesterday, the course was very wet and extremely windy. I used the 10.5 set at the stated loft with the sliding weight set in the neutral position, Smoke 65 gram stiff shaft. Looks much better in person, the sound isn't what I like, but definitely not as bad as some have stated.

My observations for the day:

-looks much better than the pictures

-perfect head size, not too big or small

-easy to align

-nice high ball flight

-above average distance

-straight flight, but was easy to draw/fade on demand

-feel, soft but responsive, reminded me of the Titlesit TS3

-sound, good, but not great, not a deal breaker for me

I missed two fairways all day, picked up about 10 yards on less than optimal strikes, but when I put a really good swing on it, I was hitting around 20-25 yards past where I usually hit it on the course I play. The Smoke' shaft felt great, I have never used it before; I plan on playing it again with a few more shafts to see which one actually works the best for me, but I could game the Smoke' shaft all day.

I don't have any numbers, just visual numbers from where I normally hit my drives on any given day on my course.

I will be buying it once I narrow down the perfect shaft for me.

Looks like I've got some driver testing to do...

Man, how did you get in on this so early. Looking forward to the results! As I currently have the OG Epic non-SZ in the bag, I am curious what the footprint difference looks like. I am hoping it's a little more compact yet.

Seen some evidence that the new Rogue 130 MSI shafts are going to be an available custom option for the Flash woods, but likely with an upcharge. Like all ion plated shafts, it's a real looker.

Has anyone heard of this yet? With no access to a real fitting around here, I am very interested to see what kind of results something like this yields on drivers.

Yes, similar to the Mizuno shaft fit system. I believe its geared towards iron shafts however, I could be wrong.

Wood Bros Kool Cat F-1 - 11°

TaylorMade Tour Cleek - 16°

Ping Eye 2 - 1 Iron

[Irons - TBD]

Cleveland Reg. 588 - Special 49°

Wilson Staff Dyna-Power - SW

Scotty Cameron CA Coronado - 34"

I have one, and while it was a bit of a bear to set up the first time it is amazingly accurate. It recommended the exact shaft I have in both my driver and irons. I tested it on two other players at my club and it recommended the exact driver shaft that both play. Looking forward to using it more.

Does it recommend parameters or specific shafts? Does it return any other data?

Recommends specific stock shafts as well as specific aftermarket shafts for both irons and drivers. Measures things like speed, tempo, rate of face closure etc. without really displaying quantifiable data for those parameters.

Does it quantify the reasoning behind the recommendation? For instance, does it state that a customer could use a higher launching, lower launching, higher torque, etc shaft due to specific attributes of their swing?

It does quantify it in the sense that it displays what it measured for the four parameters that the sensor detects on a relative scale. It does not measure any aspects of the ball flight itself nor does it know what shaft it's been plugged into for the test swings its measuring. It makes a recommendation on what will produce optimal results based on the overall speed, tempo, and face rotation of any given swing. So far, it has proven to be accurate to the point of being almost creepy.

It's pretty safe to say that Callaway will uncharge a shaft that retails for $450.

It'll probably be the same at the GDI shafts so $250 uncharge. $250 seems to be what they charge for shafts in that ballpark but we should find out tomorrow for sure.
