What Does Callaway Have In Store For 2019?

Recommended Posts

Just hit the flash drivers - sub and std as well as apex and apex pro irons. I’m a 6 and hit it pretty straight, but only 95 driver ss.

Sub zero is taller and 600 less spin for me... better sound and feel than reg flash.

Irons are not even close. While I don’t like the shiny finish on the pros, they feel far better and are very forgiving. The std apex is very “clickly†and no upg from cf16 IMHO.

Clicky is not what I want to hear from a forged head. Ugh!

I'd strongly disagree with "clicky".

The Apex Forged head I was hitting felt very solid and soft. Felt way better than the Apex CF 16 in my opinion. I believe the Apex CF 16 is six different pieces and the new Apex Forged is two pieces.

But hey, to each is own.

Edit: I guess the new Apex standard is 5 pieces. I stand corrected, sorry gents. I have to say, Callaway's releases this year are very impressive. The offerings are creating A LOT of buzz....

The Rogue Sub Zero vs the Epic Flash Sub Zero. I Will do a full testing on the GCquad tomorrow, as my Flash just came in today.

Early report is the head is def taller and more compact, so it looks smaller at address. Face also looked flatter for whatever reason. It felt phenominal. Early reports are WOW. I expected it to be about the same as rogue but so far so good.

Awesome. Thanks for the comparison photos. It looks like they eliminated any of my issues with the looks of the Rogue. Very excited to get this in my hands.

What are the size of the sliding weights and the front weight?

The stock front weight was unmarked which i found odd, but i have numerous, so i can say 95% sure it was a 3g and maybe even a 1g. it was very small. I put in a 14g immediately, as my shaft is cut to 43.5". Made a big difference in feel.

They only sent me the head but it came with 2 sliders for the back. The stock one i pulled out had a 3 marked on it and the extra one they sent had a 4 on it, but they were heavier than 3-4g so im not sure what that number actually meant. the 4 was heavier then the 3 for sure, and i cant tell the difference in 1g so it was a bigger difference than that.

Also, anyone with a Callaway account can order extra weights for you. I know the OEM ones used to be a pain to acquire but they aren't anymore. Its right on the account holder wholesale site. I just ordered a couple.

another guy stated the front weight was 2g, stock slider 12g, and extra slider 20g.

This is correct...you may be in fact quoting my info. Stock front weight is marked on the barrel of the weight (can see the "2" once you take it out), and I weighed it to make sure that 2 was the weight of the screw. The stock back weight was 12g, with the 20g included stating that it was for shorter shaft lengths. I do not know if the retail heads will come with 2 different back weights however.

Are those Club Champion Adapters in those?

Was just at the Club Champion headquarters in Willowbrook IL. hoping that they had their heads ready for fitting. Unfortunately they did not and the word from the top was hopefully by the release date.

Confirms what I was told yesterday here in Philly! Ugh

Why are they not marketing the new gear yet? Seems like a very slow rollout, which I know they are famous for. I plan on the new driver, but am very interested in the Jpx fli. Not sure if they are more of a hybrid, not sure of the lofts or adjustability. Jesus, give us a taste. Or at least leak a few more pictures.

Regarding apex from someone that has had them in the bag for the past 3 weeks: I love the feel. Soft but with a little click and heat off the face. Definitely not "clicky" imo.

I find it so weird it's not all out within a week. Like a line a day? Potentially have to go to 3 fittings to get a whole bag sorted or wait until last item is out??

These are the scheduled dates and some will change as they always do regarding head/shaft back orders from the manufacturers but that list was what I received last Friday. You wouldn't believe the things that are on back order at times such as 7 or 8 iron heads, various shafts and grips

there are some info pages and videos up, but you still can't see the actual product.

The Stroke Lab page just pissed me off, still can't see what is actually available.
