Why the chrome for the Apex Pro when that demographic would definitely prefer satin???

 

Not sure, but probably because the 16 version was satin and they are trying to make this model look new and improved. Just a marketing tactic most likely, even if not preferred by the majority of low single hdcp and better players. The research probably shows that the new look will offset that with other demographics. Again just an assumption.

 

‘16 were chrome as well. Feedback then...make it in satin.

Honestly the only feedback I care about is those who have gamed both Epic and Rogue. My guess is the Flash isnt much better than Rogue. Flash face in m opinion is just Callaways face marketing response to Twistface marketing for TM.

Is pre-book the pre-order day? Also, what is PAR? Would those dates match the woods too? With that being said, is there a definitive shaft list available? I am afraid that if I don't spend this Christmas money, my wife is going to get better ideas for it :)

PAR is product at retail date. Irons supposed to be 1-21 woods 2-1 is what’s rumored.

Would be interesting to see the results! I love Callaway woods but I don’t think we will see that much of a difference to be honest.

Callaway really needs to change it up with the irons. Apex irons have got worse in my opinion. Rebrand them and start fresh.

 

 

I know this is an old thread, but don't you like about their irons?? I use the MB18's and they without a doubt, the best irons I have ever used...and that list includes virtually every blade ever made and some of the nicer forged cavity backs.

Here is just a little feedback from more testing with the Epic Flash SZ. Certainly a more compact clubhead. I personally wanted to see this so i am very pleased. The crown wasnt an issue for me nor was the color scheme. The sound was certainly a surprise at first but after 10 swings i kinda forgot about it. I was seriously only concerned with the numbers Trackman was putting out. After about 20 swings and a few shaft changes I finally found a combination i was ready to test. The Flash SZ with the GD TP was giving me consistent SS ~118mph and ball speed around 175. Ball Jumps off the face. Club feels so solid at impact and not as soft as rogue or epic. Launch was a little lower than i would like at 9.8 but was still seeing carry about 8 yards further then my g400 max. Wednesday I will get some time to test the last three callaway drivers and maybe a few others against each other and ill post some data. I will rope some other guys in with lower SS so that we can cover a little more ground and hopefully answer the questions of whether the Flash is a significant upgrade over prior generations.

I do agree that lots of the callaway irons are tough to look at . Nothing horrendous about the look of the MB18's though! As my father in law used to say, "pretty is as pretty does" and the only two sets of callaway irons I have ever used are the X Forged 2013's and the MB18's. I would say they are two of the best irons I have ever used and the MB's are absolutely the best.

 

We had a Club Champion open here in San Antonio a few months back. Of course, I went to get fitted. After two hours, we could not find a better iron combo than my current set up...MB18 with Modus Pro 120 shafts. That told me all I need to know.
