Absolutely zero smack talk, weak side bets, horrible golf shots. How anyone can be enjoying this pathetic display on all three fronts that was sold is beyond me. I'm out, thank goodness I didn't pay to watch it.

Why is everyone so upset with the commentary? There is next to no banter between the two players. Would you prefer we watch in silence? Barkley is the only thing keeping me awake.

There is nothing wrong with silence. I will sacrifice whatever downside there might be to silence in order to capture the upside of not missing any player/caddie talk. Put somebody in the fairway, such as Feherty to tie the players together a little better and you have a home run.

 

My goodness they have to have replays of what the players are saying because these guys can't control themselves behind the mic.

 

Spot on... Feherty would be perfect walking with them, and that’s it. Five guys with mics, including the players and caddies and would be perfect

 

This is a virtual replay of the original Skins Game aired in 83. The player's were mic'd and Vin Scully talked the entire time. Very little banter was caught. Imagine in hindsight Nicklaus, Watson, Palmer, and Player all mic'd up and Scully yapping all day long? Yeah, that happened.

Our club is having a viewing party. It will be interesting to see how many people show up to watch. Lots of folks out of town, shopping, watching football, etc.

 

Same at mine. May go over and have dinner in the pub and watch for a bit.

 

Club grill is packed. Almost no seats. Bar doing a banner business. Side bets ($1) between viewers are flying. Hilarious!

No true, plenty of banter just no hearing it... and its also why they keep replaying the comments that are made between holes. And banter aside, Id rather hear Tiger or Phil talk about the color of the grass than hear Barkley talk about the black Masters

This thing doesnt suck because of the commentary, which is fine. Its bad golf and next to no banter between the players which is literally what all the hype around this event was based on. They went so far as to talk about whether or not their would be profanity used, which Tiger implied was a silly question.

 

Have you missed the last four times they had to replay the talk between holes?

 

Just heard Jacobson say, no kidding, “Did you hear that bet, Shane?” Ummm, no, cuz you were just talking over it...

 

Walking down 14th fairway right now they were laughing and talking about something, then they cut to Barkley again...
