Mine came in Wednesday.

 

Max is digital 8 with IZ.

LST is digital 9 with IZ

Swing speed average 101

AoA 3 up.

 

LST 8 yards longer in air - 12 yards longer total.

Max launched at 16 spun 2500. Last launched at 13 spun 2200.

Swing and Ball speed up slightly with LST.

 

Normal miss for me is toe, I was shocked LST was better.

Grouping was ever so slightly tighter with Max, but misses went further with LST.

 

In play today in member/member. LOVED IT

 

Into the wind I can do things with LST I never dreamed of with Max. Down wind about the same. Side wind LST is a beast.

The great news is I got back my Aldila rip 50 tx from my buddy. Could be a beast in the new head.

1 flat at 11.5* with the weight on the toe should be money !!!!!!

So I went to the store to check out the G410 LST and it sits horribly open, before that I saw an Instagram post from Ping where it sits neutral...?! Anyone know if the face will go neutral in any of the settings?!

Yeah I know, but I would like to play a 9° head with a neutral to slightly closed face in the neutral setting, is that setup possible with a custom order from ping?

I see Ping is listing 9 PGA tour players having the G410LST in the bag and one ET player.. A lot of hotmelt in all of these LST heads, especially in the face.

Not hard at all to accomplish:

 

Option 1: Order a 9 degree 410LST head “digitally lofted as close to 8 degrees as possible”, then put in the little + position. Face will be 1/2 degree closed at setup, and loft will be nearly 8 +1 degree (obviously near your desired 9).

 

Option 2: Go with G410 plus head at 9 degrees (sits very nuetral at setup) & add 5 grams of hot melt near the front of the driver (request from Ping).

 

P.s. You call it “horribly open” when a lot of us call it “beautifully open”!!! To each their own.

That's a solid advice, can I order a digitally lofted head from from a normal Ping retailer? Or how those heads are ordered?

 

I know a lot of guys that have the hook as a problem tend to like an open face, I'm pretty much the opposite of that. The reason I was so disappointed in it sitting open was that I had looked at the pics online from Ping showing it sits neutral..

Any retailer you trust can accomplish this request. Just be firm that you want the driver “digitally lofted near 8 in the normal setting”.

Then you can manually put it in the little + position when you receive it.

Some folks that do not know what they are doing will simply order the 9 and put it in the - position which makes it a 8, but opens the face more. Do you have a local shop that you trust?

Yeah I do, I think I will give them a visit. Thank for the advice!

 

But 1st I think I have to find out how the G410LST launches, to know do I need a 9° head in this driver. Tired of playing my M4 in 7,5° just keep the ball down..

Couldn't agree more. Looks like it sits perfect to my eye. When I look at most every other driver at address, I can hear myself yelling "fore left"!

The easiest thing to do is wait until they hit shelves then pull all the 9* off the rack and eye them up.

Try and check different heads...my clubs pro shop has two different 10.5° heads, both set in the standard setting. One sat lovely and square while the other was perhaps a couple of degrees open #tolerances

Placed my order through DD's today for a 9* G410 LST with EvenFlow Black 65 6.5 and he didn't say anything about a delay. He said 1-2 weeks. I guess it's possible he wasn't aware of the backup. DAMNIT I should've just ordered a G400 LST I will be pissed if it's into August or even July.

Hit the 9 Degree LST against Epic Flash SZ and TS3. Ball speeds were 2-3 MPH higher on average with LST with a few dingers at almost 6 MPH higher. Also, spin was the most consistant I've ever had in a fitting. I would say I'm a high spin player and my 5-10 yard cut shots were spinning around 2,000-2,100. My bad (like really bad) swings were still in the 2,500-2,700 range which I will take all day. Can't wait for my order to come through.

Last I knew, Ping would digital loft as low as the stated loft on the head, but not lower.

 

So a digital 9º turned down to 7.5º with the sleeve will be a true 7.5º.

Why would they do that? I would guess just as many heads would be under the stated loft as over, why dismiss half of your potential digitally lofted sales?

 

 

Also, my g400 LST is 10 on the head and digitally lofted to 9.5 in neutral setting.

I’m just learning about this. Never heard of. So if I want a 10.5 degree loft to really 10.5, then I have to order digital loft? Tolerances on off the shelf are off that much? The looks of that pic is exactly what I want. Neutral to slightly open.

Manufacturing tolerances are tight. I wouldn’t overthink it. Digitally lifting is just for folks that desire a loft other than std.

OK. So if I want a 10.5 as standard, then a 10.5 off the shelf is just fine? I may switch shaft but I can trust the head loft?
