'Probably one of the weakest fields of the year. Only 10 players from the World's Top 25 are playing: Sung Hyun, Nasa, 6ix, Ariya, Sei Young, Carlota, Amy, Eun Hee, Hyo Joo, and Moriya. It'll be a good chance for the lower ranked players to pick up some much needed cash.

Coverages is a little above average with 3 hours on Saturday and Sunday.

The forecast looks decent. There's a chance for showers and t-storms on Thursday and Friday, but it should clear up by the weekend.

My pick this week is Carlota. She finished 2nd here last year, and is just too good to not grab a win at some point. Sei Young and Sung Hyun should be in the mix. 6ix is coming off a week of rest, so she could be a factor.

I'll be attending the tournament on Friday, and possibly Thursday (late) afternoon. I'll try to post a few pics along the way, and more when I get home. I'm going to try to follow Lucky 6, and walk a few holes with Hee Young and Muni.

I wish I would have followed Lee6 at the HSBC. I watched her hit a few on the range and the swing/balls flight was quite impressive.

HYP's swing has always been great as well. I'm not sure how much longer she'll be out there.

Not sure why you want to watch someone who's #150 on the Money List???

The final field for the Marathon hasn't been posted, but it's usually fairly weak as well. Looking at last year's results, it appears that only four players in the World's Top 25 were playing.

'Always like to try to follow a young player for a few holes. The lower ranked players generally like any support they can get.

> Is next week (Marathon in Ohio) likely to be a weak field too? There are a lot of people playing the team event, and then you have to cross the Atlantic and play Evian/Women's Open. Seems like a good time to take two weeks off. Maybe a few people that aren't in the team event play next week.

Yes, it's a logical assumption; good window for rookies to make their marks.

Nelly Korda and Lexi retired to Florida beaches after KPMG; most likely won't pick up clubs until DOW.

Sung Hyun Park is playing again this week; she's yet to commit to DOW.

Its been hot and wet up here in Wisconsin for the last two weeks. I expect the course to be soft and the scores low.

There've been so many featured articles on Alexa Pano already; more than any LPGA players but Lexi.

> I'm waiting for a gal to wear a Gale Sayers away jersey to Lambeau Field. Then it will be a real tournament.

My mother used to love to tell the story of how she first met Gale Sayers. She was a waitress for years, and one day she had Gale as a customer. He was sitting at a table, and he had his leg in a cast propped up under the table with his foot resting on the chair opposite him. When she walked up to the table to take his order she bumped into the chair, and hit his leg, causing him to let out a loud scream. She had no idea who he was at the time, and that he had injured his knee. Her fellow workers told her who she had waited on after he had left.

Ugh. I forgot that the course is an out and back design. 'Going to make it tougher to follow groups starting on the 10th, as it's almost a mile hike from the clubhouse. I might pick them up at the 15th green.

Looking at the course map, it doesn't exactly look to be spectator friendly.

Hanging out near the 6th/15th green might not be bad. One can watch approaches to both greens, and stroll over to the 16th teebox. The 9th/14th green is also a possibility, with the 10th and 15th teeboxes adjacent.

Much of the course isn’t spectator friendly. The “out and back” design eliminates about half the course for many people, especially if it is brutally hot. The biggest issue, though, is the finishing hole on Sunday. There is NO place for spectators along the 18th hole except the cart path, which has deep woods on one side and a drop off down to the fairway. Two years ago marshals wouldn’t allow people to follow the group up the fairway in case there was a playoff. But the 2nd hole, par 3 down a steep hill, is a great place to set up shop for the day. (And last year the commissioner gave us a ride up the hill to get there. ?)
