I always feel like Sei Young's stats are a fraction behind those handful of players that are leading the tour across the board in many categories (Sei Young's GIR and Putts per GIR are usually Top 20 or so, which is pretty good). But she wins a lot.

 

For example, over the same period Minjee has 5 wins. Although "how well Minjee is hitting it" may be biased a bit by her play the last two years; 2015-2017 her numbers were probably more like Sei Young Kim stats.

Strom moved up the money list quite a bit. I think she was just inside 100 before this tournament.

 

Kupcho with a decent move, although a better final round and solo 5th or T4 would have been nice for the money rankings (maybe another $10-25k?).

Sei Young’s “A” game has always been as good as anyone, but her lack of consistency holds her back. Kind of like Calcaveccia. The good news is Calc did win an Open, so maybe that bodes well for Sei Young,

Congrats to Sei Young. It looks like Lexi is back to 2017 form. In her last 9 starts she posted these finishes starting at the ANA: 3, MC, T4, MC, T2, 1, T2, T26, 2. That's pretty impressive minus the MC's.

Although my prediction earlier this week ("I think a first timer is do as well, I say if that happens I like Linnea Strom, Tiffany Chan or Brittany Altomare.") didn't quite work out, Linnea Strom gave it her best for a T5, and Brittany with a T11.

Well, Lexi did make it interesting. That drive on the 18th was bananas, and the approach just as crazy. As she said during her post round interview, her ballstriking was off today. She didn't give herself many good looks at birdie.

 

Meanwhile, Sei Young was practicing darts. Whoa. Her flop shot late on the par 3 was also incredible. It's only a metter of time before she wins a major. I agree with Karen, she needs to dial it back a bit.

 

Not quite the day Jennifer expected, but an even par round is OK. I'm sure she'll get more comfortable in that position over time.

 

Congrats to the WBO qualifiers. I'm curious how many of them knew they were in a position to grab a spot.

She seemed to be hitting 3 wood fairly often, and yet almost grabbed the win. Maybe this is a sign that Ariya has the right idea? Certainly Lexi's driver is a weapon, but her 3 wood seems quite capable of putting her into position to attack the pins.

SYK was unbeatable. Her approach and short games were tremendous yesterday. That single bogey made it slightly more competitive. Lexi...wow. Is there such thing as an uninspired 66? She should have more wins than she does with play like that, but there's always something. And I have to give an honorable mention to Stacy Lewis. As soon as she gets back into a groove playing week to week, she could be somewhat of a factor going forward.

 

Jennifer Kupcho will get there. Just a few tournaments in, she's acquitting herself well to Tour life.

Linnea had her first top 10 as a LPGA rookie. Congrats. Caroline with her first top 10 of the season.

 

Curious what's going on with Minjee. After a red hot start to the season, she's fallen off the pace. She hasn't had a top 10 since the Mediheal in early May. I guess it could simply be the ebbs and flows of a season. She was rather streaky last year, too, with stretches of top 10's, and other periods of meh.

 

So Yeon had a nice stretch of three top 10's, including the two majors, but has been invisible in her past two events.

 

A special congrats to Pavarisa Yoktuan. I noted in the Ballstriking thread that she was in the top 10 for both Ballstriking and Total Driving, but dead last in Total Putting. I got a chance to follow her for 5 holes at Thornberry, and her ballstrking does seem to be quite good. She seems to have cured her putting woes, at least for now, and finished T5. Her previous best this season was 47T. It was her first top 10 in 3 years on tour.

So when is the meeting to divide Sei Young Kim's final round footage for commericials?

She gave Titleist, The Golf Channel, The LPGA and The Marathon Classic plenty to work with.

Some epic music and a little narration will make a great promo piece for a future event.

For this course, yes. Ariya finished T2 when she played in 2016 and she was hitting her driving iron quite a bit.
