TEE made a believer out of me when I put the cbx 119 in the bag last year. I don't know if any variation of these will knock it out but I'm interested.

Played the EXS last year, was a little bit triangular, but nothing like the 907 pic above... Driver felt great and performed really well, I was really impressed. Will definitely give this one a look.

Interested in some opinions!

I just pulled the trigger on the driver, but being in Europe, no chance to hit it before buying.

Bought the 3 and 4 hybrids, they are HOT, sound great, feel good but are a little big for my liking. The CBX 119 hybrid I have is perfect, that’s why I bought the EXS 220 hybrids, and after reading/watching some reviews on the driver, I checked the prices.

The driver is available for 245 $ new right now, with the Hzrdus Yellow, that’s a hell of a deal. They are promoting the C721 driver now, hence the price drop.

Soooo, who is playing the EXS 220 and how do you like it?

I don't play the 220 but have hit it on a few occasions. If I wasn't bagging the driver I currently have I'd choose the 220 over any of the others. If the shaft works for you, you're gonna love it!

  • Thanks 1

The answer to better golf is work your butt off and learn how to hit it better, farther, and make more putts.

Anyone else? It seems strange that so few people have hit it, it gets good reviews but not many on here.

Anyone hit it with the Ventus 4t? Considering it with this shaft and a 12* head since I tend to have a lower ball flight. I also hate a closed face so if I have to lower the loft a bit it should open it up, but really looking for feedback on the Ventus. I've read that while it's not a "real" Ventus, it is made with the same tech, just a less expensive velo-core material ( 40 instead of 70)?

Here's what I found re: the Ventus... TaylorMade is the ONLY company offering ventus without VeloCore as their stock shaft. And their custom upgrade shafts are the aftermarket versions, hence the upcharge. So if you see a ventus part at another OEM it is our aftermarket part with VeloCore and carries a $350 MSRP. the only exception is Tour Edge has a Ventus with "4T Core" which is same construction as VeloCore, but without the $$$ Pitch 70T material. 4T core is all high-mod 40 Ton in the full length bias core."

Not really sure what it all means...

Mine got delivered today. Sound is a little hollow compared to my F9. Sounds very much like My Srixon Z565. The head does not look triangular to me at all. I'm very impressed by the forgiveness if this head; other than low on the face it might be the most forgiving driver head I've ever hit. I was a tad apprehensive ordering a 12* head but am glad I did. I've always been a lower launch guy with the driver as my AoA is pretty flat. I was getting a noticeably higher launch without any ballooning whatsoever. The Ventus was a pleasant surprise as I couldn't find much info about it but knew the Hzrdous yellow would be a bad fit for me. The Ventus 4t core feels very mid-flex to me and mid to low spin; it feels pretty solid in the tip and even my bad swings weren't spinning out of control. Only change I'm considering is shortening 1/2"-3/4" if I can find an 11gr weight although initial searches for the weight aren't promising. Can't wait to see real course results with real golf balls. I've played nothing but Exotics fw's since their inception but have never been impressed enough with any of their driver's to keep it in the bag. I think that just changed....

Glad the EXS220 working out for you. There is another site that has more info on Tour Edge with several members using the driver.

I play the EXS 220 in fairways and hybrids - I use aftermarket shafts as none of their shaft fit me. The hybrid heads are a little big but offer confidence and forgiveness as well as great ball speed as do the fairways. I rotate them with SIM Ti fwys and a 22 HY where I also changed the shafts.

I played that exact setup 12* with Ventus blue 4t in Reg flex last year. I alternated it with a Cally Flash 12* and Speedzone Xtreme 12*. The tour edge kept up no problem and was the best sounding and feeling of the 3.  On a couple holes on my home course I hit my longest with the EXS220.  I only hot rid of it because I like to add loft and when I did the face seemed to sit pretty closed.

That's precisely why I purchased the 12*. I've always played 10.5* but wanted to try a little higher launch. My thinking is that I won't be lofting up, but might occasionally loft down. If/when I  do it should open the face rather than close it which is what I prefer.

So I have played a couple rounds with the 9.5 and a Hzrdus Smoke Yellow 6.5.

It sounds fantastic.
It‘s very long.
It‘s hard to turn over, mostly hitting power fades.
Flight is low and piercing, which is a first for me. Hit everything high and spinny, usually. Love it.

IMO, this driver is criminally underrated. The C721 will turn a few heads, but the EXS 220 is the best deal on the market right now. 245$ new, with a great shaft.

Thanks for listening.
