exactly!  I'm a higher handicap than him  (around a 2.5 now) and play blades (MP-20s)  but im looking in the the 921 SEL (tours) as well

OK, I'll take a closer look at the tours.  I'm just really happy with my distances right now and don't want to hit a 200 yard 7 iron with the forged or lose some yardage if I go tour and mess up my gapping.   Just updated all my wedges (60,55,50) with T20s and striking the rest of the bag really well.  Probably dumb to make a change but for some reason I want something new and shiny.

Anyone bending the tour a degree strong?

I am currently still playing my MP32s but I am looking forward to demoing the JPX921s.  I’m thinking about getting a combo set of the JPX921 forged and tours.  My thought is get a JPX921F 5 and 6 iron (24* and 27*) respectively, which mimic the lofts of the JPX921T 4 and 5 irons, and the 6-PW (30*-46*) Tours to maintain consistent gaps.  The other way would be the JPX921F 5, 6, 7 (24*, 27*, 30 (31* bent 1* weak) which mimic the lofts of the JPX921T 4, 5, and 6 irons, and JPX921T 7-PW (34*-46*) again to maintain consistent gaps.  This would result in a set with the same lofts as my current MP32 4 and 5 iron and 1* stronger than my current 6-PW (31*-47*).  I would be interested in hearing any thoughts or other ideas on how to blend the two sets?

I currently have 919 HM Pro and demoed them against 919 Forged. I previously had 900 Forged/Tour combo.  My son has previously played 919 Tours in same specs as me.  So I feel I've got decent experience with the JPX line!  In general I am very happy with the 919 HMP but ideally would like something a little softer.  When i go back to hit the 919 and 900 Tours they feel so much better but I am realistic to know that Tour low and mid irons are too much club for me bar the rare days when my A game surfaces!

Today got a chance to hit the 921 Forged and Tour 7 iron.  Bottom line I am getting either a full set of Forged or possibly a combo Forged 5-7 and Tour 8-GW if I can work out a blend for the loft gaps.

The Forged is a beautiful looking club.  It was pretty much love at first sight.  Its now the same/similar offset as my 919 HMP but overall is more compact and slightly thinner top line.   All good things in my opinion.  Obviously feels a bit softer/nicer than my HMP. which was expected   Way better visuals and feel compared to the 919 Forged which I thought were a step back compared to the 900F.  The most surprising thing about the 921F was that they really did not seem any less forgiving than my 919 HMP.  In terms of length I'd say they were a few yards back from my 919 HMP but nothing significant.   So after the first test session the 921F appears to tick all the boxes.   Beautiful, compact, great feel and very forgiving.  Whats not to like?  I had to restrain myself from placing an order immediately ?

As mentioned before I am not really good enough to hit play a full set of Tours but I figured I'd hit it while I had the chance.  Its a stunning looking club.   I thought that the original 900 Tour was the best looking iron to date but the new 921 T has it beat.  Feel is sublime and as I hit the first few shots perfectly I was hooked.   Flight is definitely higher than the Forged (due to loft differences I am sure ) and its at least 1/2 a club shorter - maybe more.  But its more forgiving than it looks.  Reality did eventually  kick in and I hit a few iffy shots but if I had the iron game consistency then these would be the ones for me.

Going to hit them again today.  Will probably hold off final configuration until I can see what the Forged short irons look like but so far these 2 irons are pretty much the best combo of looks/feel/forgiveness/performance irons I have ever hit.   Compared to other irons...my son has the T100s and both these 921 models feel and perform better IMO.

Well done Mizuno - I hope you are stocking up on these heads as you are going to get so many orders once people start demo-ing them.

The best way to order a set of forged is to order them at SEL lofts. I’ve done this before with the mp 20 MMC set and Mizuno got them spot on. That is exactly what I’ll do if I go with a full set of forged or a combo set with the tours. I’m waiting to see a full set of both before I pull the trigger.

What heads are they sending out to fitters? 6 or 7 irons? Thanks.

The ones my pro shop had were 7 irons.  They had standard and B heads at least in the Tour and Forged.  Presume they also had HM and HMP but I did not look at those
