After I saw that RICKIEF2020 was a code at one point and after the BRYSOND2020 code went dead I figured that I wanted to spend more money. So I ran down the list of cobra/puma staffers just to see if it was possible, and thats how I found the GARYW2020 and GRAHAMD2020 codes. No idea how the TISHA2020 code was found. I am surprised that there was not a Lexi, Blair O'neal, Ernie Els, or Greg Norman code, but who knows maybe more to come?

Im just curious how this is all going to play out as these codes aren't being put out publically by Cobra. I was hunting around and came across a Reddit post about code GS45 (45% off sitewide). This code was for Cobra Retail employees but it was leaked. Anyone that used it that wasn't verified as a Cobra employee had there orders cancelled. The Reddit post was from 6 years ago so maybe Cobra is a bit more lax now on not cancelling orders. Hopefully it works out for everyone and for myself if another code comes up. Fingers crossed.

Definitely intentional, now who was supposed to get them that's a different story. The discount codes could possibly be a way of introducing a new cobra/puma staffer with the last code, or maybe just a way of getting rid of inventory during this COVID thing, or maybe just a great Memorial day deal from a great company. And I doubt it was an accident, plus I already have a tracking number for part of my order (the non-custom part).

I am just curious about how the first code was found and who it was meant for since they didn't release it to the public as far as I can tell.

This is what Im saying. Obviously the codes were intentionally created, but for what purpose? Where did the original RICKIEF2020 code come from, how was it found? I get ppl started trying other names once this original was out there, but still doesnt answer the question.

As someone who has dealt with a lot of cancelled orders from retailers over the years, I can say that a tracking number doesn’t guarantee success in securing an order. Often times tracking numbers are auto generated when the order fulfillment software receives the order, but the label itself isn’t printed until the package is boxed up and ready to go. At that point, If the order is wrong or cancelled, it just doesn’t ship and the tracking info is dead. Unless the tracking number shows actual package movement, there’s always the possibility of cancellation. Especially if these were Cobra Staff/retail account holder only codes, Which, as a Cobra retail account holder myself, can say they look a lot like, especially with the level of discount they offered.

Yes keep in mind the first code was posted on Friday afternoon, everything at Cobra was probably shut down for the weekend and wont be reopened again until Tuesday due to the holiday. All the tracking info and order confirmations ppl have been getting are computer generated auto responses. Im sure Tuesday morning is going to be interesting at Cobra HQ.

Any chance that the sale has anything to do with Cobras company history? Maybe 45% off for 45 years in the industry, according to https://www.cobragolf.com/history and https://www.liveabout.com/cobra-golf-profile-1563954, about 45 years ago in 1975 cobra introduced its first major product to the golf industry.

Probably a long shot, but I hope that's the case over orders getting canceled.

The fact they didn't shut it down after the second one makes me think it's intended for the general public. If it were for employees or retail accounts why would you keep allowing the same pattern of codes to drop once the general public figured it out? 100% a guess, but with the random time that each code has been active makes me wonder if the code is designed to shut down once a certain dollar amount is hit. The code that dropped close to midnight lasted much longer than the others.
