Weird to want a Ping bag?

I feel like a complete tool, but is it weird that I want a Ping bag to match my clubs? Everything in my bag except for Driver and putter are Ping.

My bag is a Callaway Hyperlite 5 (holds sentimental value as I won it at my friend's brother's memorial tournament). I likely will not be getting rid of the Callaway bag, because of the sentiment, but I want a Ping bag.

I have been walking for the past year(using a push cart) but would like to just grab the bag and go every once in a while and carry. My Cally bag is only 5.5 lbs. What Ping bag out there is lighter?

I think thats the main reason most of us buy new bags... I am looking at the Hoofer light. That seems like its right under 5 lbs.

 

But i have seen other companies that have even lighter bags.

go back to the late 90s when everyone up and coming JR/High school/College golfer had a ping hoofer bag with mixed set

 

shoot I still do it I have a ping hoofer lite bag and no ping clubs :)

That's weird, everything in my PING bag is not PING, except my driver and putter.

there’s just something “right” about a Hoofer. I have cycled through just about every brand over the years, keep coming back to the Hoofer.

Definitely not weird to want a Ping bag as they are top notch.

If you can find a store that has all in stock, I would compare the Craz E Lite, Hoofter Lite and Hoofer as all are excellent choices, just depends on how much room you need.

No. Ping makes some of the best bags out there consistently ranked high in many reviews.

I don't walk/carry cuz I play alot in 100 degrees but I do push cart and the easy drive cart. So, I just bought my first Ping bag - the DLX Cart. I wanted something not cloth and good design. It is very nice with ample cooler pocket appreciated in my heat. Looks fantastic but I play no Ping clubs (but would!). The magnetic ball pocket is awesome.

I'm with the others, Ping makes quality golf bags. Now, it might be weird to want one just to match your clubs, but it won't be a bad choice. I have a 5-year old Hoofer and aside from a little color fading, its just as good as new. No worn spots on the section dividers, every zipper and zipper pull is intact, no wear spots, its almost disappointing that I can't find a reason to get a new one! For my clubs, I have a 15-year old Ping putter, Callaway driver, and all the rest Titleist.

I've never owned one but I see LOTS of PING bags around - carrying PING and every other maufacturer under the sun's clubs. So they must be good!

I got a ping hoofer bag when I was 13 and used it for about 18 years before selling it for $20 or $30 to a beginner. It was still in incredible shape, legs worked, straps were good, zippers worked. It was just sun faded. That was back when they made them in the USA though. I got a new hoofer and had multiple issues with it early on. Said to hell with it, sold it and bought a new old school 1990's hoofer on ebay instead. Have used that as my carry bag the last 4-5 years with zero issues.

Keep in mind when your buying a bag, that 10 or 20 ounce weight difference could be the quality/support needed for a long lasting bag.

The hoofer is an iconic bag. These days I find it weird when someone pays any attention to the clubs in my bag.

Ping bags are great. They seem to carry about a pound lighter than advertised due to the straps and balance. My Titleist players 4 carries heavier than my hoofer for me.

Last night I cleaned out my bag. I hope to replace it soon, but until then figured i'd clean the clutter of it. Taking a bunch of tees and balls out doesn't make a huge difference in weight, but it definitely adds up. I like that everything is "minimalist" in my bag now. When I do get a new bag, I will continue this trend...

Don't overthink it...just get the bag that works best for you. You say you have a heavy majority of Ping clubs now but in 5 years you may have a complete makeover so matching clubs to bag isn't a forever thing.

I'm encouraged that you have cleaned your present Cally bag a bit. Isn't it amazing how much extra stuff can accumulate without us even noticing?

Cant believe how much crap accumulated in it. I noticed last night while cleaning it out that it really is getting pretty beat up. The red color has faded, material looks sunbaked. I don't think it has a ton of life left in it anyway. I use it a lot, and it has traveled to many different locations/states in cars/vans/planes. We'll see though. For now, it's what I got!

PING Moon-lite with stand up strap is very nice

Strictly carry-not cart friendly

I use mine often when it is not wet out as it lays on the ground

 

I have 2 ping bags and several ping putters but no other ping clubs

I have no ping clubs but I just purchased a hoofer lite and have been eyeballing a moonlite bag as well. Just a good golf bag.
