Adidas Golf 2021

Recommended Posts

I was all in on the solarthons, until I found some Ecco s-three for too good to be $$.  I love my current pair of s-three so had to get another pair.

instill fear the solarthons will have the wrap of waterproofing around the shoe like the special release.

Love the look of the solarthons. Can’t get over the fact they look nothing like their photos! That extra external waterproofing ruins the whole look, just like a trail runner.

The question will be, will the new color ways have the dark grey or dark waterproof  ring around them as well.  Since they don’t show in the online pics.

As you can see from the pics, yes.

They're intentionally deceptive, not putting the waterproof part on the prototypes they use for photo shoots/marketing/publicity/online stores.  Weak sauce.

What do you guys think is a more comfortable shoe CodeChaos or ZG21?

CodeChaos, but just slightly better.

The fit I find to be the same.  The heel area is identical.  Both have Boost (not much though) and a thick insole.  I feel the comfort mainly comes from the insole and it's the same insole for both shoes.  CodeChaos has Boost for the toebox and ZG21 uses Lightstrike in the toebox.  This is where CodeChaos has the slight edge IMO.

The ZG’s are waterproof and would probably be easier to keep clean?

I'll have to qualify what I'm going to say by the fact that I've only tried on and walked around in the store with the ZG's several times while I've had my CC since Spring of last year.

That said, I'd give the nod to CC for pure comfort.  However, from what I remember of the ZG, they feel like they would give better energy return during a hard swing if you're the type who leverages the ground a lot.  They also seemed to feel a touch more stable laterally, IMO, than CC.  I think you really need to try on the ZG before buying as there seems to be varying opinions on fit...although the consensus (me included) thinks they fit wide in the forefoot.  For me, I had to go down a half size in ZG compared to CC.

With Nikes toebox getting smaller by the year I went back to Adidas the last few shoes.

Had the Tour360XT last year which was good but the ZG21 this year, wow.

The ZG21 might displace the OG Tour360 as my favorite shoe of all time. Comfy, light, good traction.

BOA or lace?

I’m torn between the ZG21 or the FJ tour X….

Both solid choices, just comes down to what type of feel you’re looking for(assuming they both fit your feet properly).  Tour X for a firmer and more stable ground feel for more efficient  power transfer while the ZG has a softer, more supple feel underfoot.

The waterproofing doesn’t bother me as much on the black solarthons.. may have to give them a try.

Honestly they look great on foot. My LE ones do too, ended up dumping one of my pairs of AM90G because I prefer the Solarthons.

Another Solarthon fanboy here. Got my PrimeBlues out for the first time yesterday and was blown away by the comfort. I'd previously been wearing NB FreshFoam LinksSL's for my walking rounds this year. The Adidas breathe better, are more comfortable underfoot and look better as well. Promptly ordered the dark pair as soon as I got home.

Hoping they are built well, but will likely swap the insoles ASAP. They're pretty thin.
