Small PSA: Adidas.com is running a 30% off sale of full price items for the long weekend, so I just picked up the ZG21 for $126.  I didn't see any golf shoes on sale to compound the discount, but still is better than any other deal for the ZG21 I've seen so far.

Interesting looking shoe. Looks like a mix between the Ultraboost 20 and NMD R1. I've always thought Adidas would kill it if they made a golf version of the Ultraboost, NMD R1, and Yeezys

Not a fan of the Solar ones but the Grey and black ones look money! I’ll try them and hope they fit better than the Vice ones did cause my heel was sliding out of the back

The problem with a cage lacing system is that helps keep the shoe on the foot, but does nothing for the heel lock.  I have the same gripe with the UltraBoost 21.  The Solarthon (weird name) have a traditional lacing system and the upper does not look very flexible, so it should (in theory) have better heel lock.  

 

The upper on the black/gold CW is really nice, but I'm a sucker for blue.  The blue one is calling my name.

I really want to try to the new Adidas limited release because I absolutely love wearing Ultraboost in my day to day life. However, as a fat guy I've had bad experiences with spikeless shoes. Have any other big guys used spikeless Adidas and tell me if this is a no fly zone for us Huskies?

I picked up a pair of Adicross Bounce 2 (I think that's the name?) last year and they were fine.  With that being said I've used spikeless shoes for a while and never had a problem and I do live in a pretty dry climate.

Never slipped with spikeless shoe. I do like the look of the Solarthon but really want the new codechaos.

I had the Nike Explorer models when they first came out and on dry days in south florida they worked. The second the grass even slightly moist it was just a slide fest. I am 6'1 300+ so that usually causes a problem and I feel like the spikes allow me to gain additional traction with the ground for my big frame. I guess I'll have to bite the bullet one day and try it. Worst case I wear them once and sell them on ebay

I saw the new primeblue code chaos shoes (grey + black) models in a Golf Town this morning. Did not like how they looked and going to pass on them. The side profile really isn't that good with the wave pattern imho. Selling for same price as last year's code chaos.

Which ones are these?  The Primeblue Code Chaos from last year were amazing IMO.

That's odd.  I was looking at the US site to see if they had my unicorn sizing or a wide version.  Instead I see US only got this CW, but not the other 3.  Canada got all 4 CWs... but limited stock where small and large sizes already show messages of "low in stock" or "only 2 in stock".  Also no size 12.5 in Canada to my dismay. 

 

I bought a 12 and 13. Will be returning the one that fits worse.

I wonder if that's a mistake because when you initially load up the page, the box says 4 colors underneath until you scroll your mouse over it, then it disappears.

I’m trying to decide between the solarthon shoe and the new prime blue 21 shoes. What’s the main differences? I like the look of the solarthon but is it just a glorified ultraboost? Is it waterproof at all? Why would someone get the prime blue over the solarthon?

The Solarthon is listed on the adidas website now as coming soon.  The description says: "Water-resistant textile upper"

 

The CodeChaos 21 description: "Waterproof"

 

I think fans of UltraBoost or Crossknit (and 2.0) golf shoes will like the Solarthon, but probably avoid if conditions are really wet and/or raining.  It terms of traction and comfort, it's really just speculation at this point.  But the CodeChaos have great traction and probably better than the Solarthon.  However, IMO I think the Solarthon will be more comfortable.  The Boost on the Solarthon looks identical to the UltraBoost 19 or 20.  UB19/20 has 20% more Boost compared to UB 1.0-6.0 and Crossknit and is the most comfortable Ultra Boost ever made (IMO).  Also looking at side by side pictures, the Solarthon looks wider in the toebox which could add to comfort for some.

 

TL;DR 

Performance: probably  CodeChaos 21 > Solarthon

Comfort: probably CodeChaos 21 < Solarthon

Well got my zg21s a few days ago, played a full round yesterday and it was heel blister hell for me. I can try them again with different socks (played in swiftwicks) or some type of bandaid or padding, but I'm debating just returning them as I've never had this issue before. Seems like they've worked well for most people here and apart from the heel blisters, they felt fantastic. Definitely odd as my other pair of shoes are adidas 4orged spikeless and have been pain free since day 1

 I think it might be the swift wick socks. I bought a pair a while ago and IMO are the worse sock for walking 18. I tried them 2 times with my 360 boost and got blisters both times. Went back to my normal Stance stock and did not have this problem.
