Adidas Golf 2021

I've now done a ton of rounds with the Solarthons now both with a cart and walking.  I have to say, I'm loving them.  

 

In fact, I was going to buy the black/yellow CW, but was sold out in my size.  I did notice that in Canada, Adidas restocked the original launch CW (grey with blue midsole and white sole).  If anyone was looking for this CW (and in Canada), it's available now in most sizes, but very limited stock.

1st pair of Adidas

ZG21

in the limited walking I have done they are very comfortable and very light

Look forward to testing them out this weekend

Was wearing  G Fore MG4+ and they did not have anything I liked in my size so I went with these

Can you compare the comfort level of the ZG21 vs the MG4+. Thanks.

MG4+ is more comfortable

Thanks. I always walk and don't have the best feet. The MD4+ look I show I could really like. Currently using Adidas Primknit and love the boost.

Anyone know what replacement spikes to buy for the Adidas ZG21 shoes?? I had some Champ ones laying around that I put in Nike tour premiere's but they didn't fit these Adidas shoes. I have one spike that keeps coming out so wanted to buy some new ones to see if it would fix it. Not sure if the plastic thing is bent and that's why the Champ spike wouldn't go in or if there is another type I can buy at dicks or golf galaxy tomorrow.

Played 18 holes on sat and Sun with the ZG21 this weekend

I am coming from the GFore MG4+ so this is my comparison of them

 

The traction is off the charts with the ZG21

They were a few times my foot was stuck in the ground for a sec.

Coming from the soft-spike of the MG4+ was a bit of an adjustment

The ZG21 feel a bit lighter than the MG4+

I played at 7am so the ground was still wet and the shoes kept my feet dry

In overall comfort I would say the  MG4+ is more comfortable but that is in no way a knock on the ZG21

The MG4+ are 1 and the ZG21 are 1b IMO

 

 

Even though I couldn't  find my size in the MG4+ I am very pleased with the ZG21

Would recommend either shoe

Solarthons grip quite well. I was surprised. Picked up different color way today. May wear them as casual shoes and be ready if a quick game breaks out.

I'm also impressed with the grip.  I played a 9 hole course (twice to get in a full 18).  One hole in particular was a par 3 where you tee off from 1 hill and the green is on another steep hill.  The distance is deceptively longer than you think it is.  Of course I hit it short.  I scaled up the hill no problem.  Then the second time around I clubbed up, but hit a tree and rolled back down to the middle of that same dang hill.  Zero issues both times going up that hill.  

 

Also a side note for Canadians.  ZG21, CodeChaos 2.0 and Solarthon (just the launch CW) are 30% off at adidas with code: BTSKICKS.  And weirdly, they actually changed the images for the Launch CW Solarthon.  It now shows the shoes with grey laces, the waterproofing and the shoe bag.  The other CWs still have the older pics.  That's odd they would go through the trouble of re-shooting a shoe that already sold out for a re-stock in Canada.  Just purely speculation, but it could mean a restock might be heading to other regions like the US?  Maybe?

Maybe the Canadians more rigidly enforce deceptive advertising. NOt ot be an old crank, but it's BS they've been doing that for years, not showing that waterproof bumper in marketing materials. And they do it intentionally.

IMO, the whole ZX line is an ugly retro that Adidas has been trying to revive with little success.  Also that white textile mesh upper is going to get really dirty really fast.  Maybe a black or grey CW would have been better, but still is an easy pass for me.

Just went to Golf Galaxy to try the new CodeChaos. I thought they felt a lot different than the 2020 version. Very disappointed.

There are some differences between Canada and US.  In Canada, you can get them right now with early access if you have a login.  US launch date is Aug 20.  Also Canada doesn't have the mid top BOA ZG21 in mens... only womens.  The low top ZG21 and the ZX are only available in mens.

 

Personally, I like the look, but these are going to get messed up pretty bad after just 1 round.  I wouldn't have mind trying out the mid top BOA ZG21, but too bad Canada isn't getting mens sizing.

I'm not familiar with Function18. Do you recommend? It looks like more options (including UK colors we don't get, cheaper prices, and free shipping once you get over $200.

I've never liked spikeless shoes over spikes

But these seem to be very grippy

I haven't played in rain yet, so that'll be the test, as usually I like a lot of traction.
