Not sure if you saw the drop on 17 beside the grandstand, they seem much kinder these days in that regard.  I guess they could still be using the same rules but today players  seem to have a good couple of feet with their swings to the obstruction, Nicholus (sp) only had a couple inches lol

Looking at the live shots of the course and the the fly overs of the hole, I think the fly over video was from months ago,  The rough seems pretty yellow and dormant, and the bombers smile a little more lol.

Just in from Playing Memorial Park and the rough is very dormant now, changed quick with the frost last week.

weather looking a bit iffy now after tomorrow.

Since they been legalizing online gambling all over the US, they've really cracked down on the Matchups betting.  If you followed the LPGA closely, there used many weak lines (bad/easy matchups), now who ever is making LPGA lines are really smart who they pair together, no real weakness when trying to find a bet lol

Does anyone who follows the KLPGA know how Hye Jin Choi is playing this season?

I think she is leading the KLPGA order of merit this year! From what I saw (3 tournaments), her form is great, but she shot herself in the foot at some point each time to fail to win.

She looks a bit more grown up now compared the US Open of a few years back. I think she is extremely confident about herself, but maybe a touch impatient. She is definitely a factor this week. People setting the odds know what is going on.

Yeah she seems in great form, I looked her up on the Rolex Ranking website, they list how you have done over the last 2 years.  She won her last event so she will be coming in confident.

I was wondering cause I wanted to do something with Brooke but not many good options, so now I'll make a small round 1 bet on 3-ball with her, Brooke and lizette, just to make Rd1 a little more exciting lol.  But I think I'm gonna take in a tournament matchup vs Jin Young Ko.

Saw Ms. Zhang at the driving range a couple weekends ago.  Been seeing her there since she was maybe 10 or 11.  Had a fantastic swing then and it looks pretty much the same now.  And it repeats.  She was hitting them very well.  She can move it OK with the driver.   Great iron shots.  And flipping wedge shots low and high, flops, etc. long and short and pretty much hitting her targets over and over.  A top 20 or even top 10 would not surprise me.  She also has a great disposition.

I'm picking Jennifer Song.

I wanted to make Angel Yin my dark horse pick, but she has no top 10s and just 2 top 20s this year. I'll reach, but not that far.

I'm still surprised that so many JLPGA and KLPGA players decided to make the trip over considering all that's going on off the course.

I like the chances of Hee Jeong Lim and Ayaka Furue. Players that can play well consistently and who don't know much professional heartbreak of almost winning and don't know that it's supposed to be difficult to win a US Open.

Bummer!   No live streaming of featured groups

That's the one thing we'll miss when Fox carried the broadcast.

The one thing I remember is Fox started it's broadcast much later and the morning featured group filled a void waiting for it start.  Fox also had the one channel, so probably a little easier to have a couple people call the Featured group.  With Peacock, coverage starts at 10:30 AM ET and run combined with Golf Channel till 6 PM which is pretty solid coverage.  We do lose lose 2.5 hours of the 2nd round as it starts at 1pm but overall some pretty solid viewing.  My one worry is it could be difficult for an average golf fan as you gonna have to jump around 3 different place at various points of the week to watch it, well not in Canada they just run all coverage on 1 channel for us.

Did anyone ever mention why there was a wall in the middle of the driving range?

Courses look great. Weather looks excellent today, but there will likely be a storm moving through tomorrow afternoon.

With 2 courses being used because of daylight limitations in December, both ends of the range were needed to accommodate the full field (more or less) on the range at the same time.  The range is 300 yards long so the longer hitters could roll drivers out to the far end of the range.  Barriers were put in place for safety.

Jin Yan was 2 minutes late for the tee time and got a 2 stroke penalty, Judy said it must be a language issue but I'm assuming clocks are a pretty standard thing no matter where you come from in the world lol

And Jing Yan speaks better English than some Americans.

I only could go peacock on one then GC on another, not multi task... eg there's no double coverage overlap - which seems the case based on the sked... i was hoping it would be like the Augusta  multiscreen streaming coverage 😛

ha ha they just said we know there are big names on the board and we'll try to get are peeps over to them.  They must be reading Canadian twitter lol.   One of big name golf reporters had to tell everyone to calm down cause there aren't many camera's JR.  Canada take it personally if they don't see Brooke on the broadcast lol
