I have a set of these inbound to compare to my 620 CB's. I hope to get some swings in before traveling for the holidays and will let you guys know my thoughts.

Which shafts did you go with?

Modus 130X in the X Forged CB and Project X LZ 6.5 in the 620 CB's

Will be curious want your backspin numbers are and descent angle.  I'm finding the CB's have a lot less backspin than other irons, was curious if they are better with the Project X IO shafts Callaway paired with them.

I have a SkyTrak so I will get some data. I expect them to spin about 500 RPM's less in the mid and short irons than my 620 CB's due to lofts alone.

Loft comparison:

                           4       5       6       7        8       9      PW
620 CB              24    27    31    35    39    43    47

X Forged            23   26    29    33    37    41     45

I've been spending more time on the GC2 and despite the lower backspin numbers I'm pretty happy with them.  The Project X IO shaft does create more backspin than the KBS shafts I opted for when I found out the delay on the IO's.  I've been working on creating more lag in my swing and getting the launch angle down a bit to increase the backspin and get a 45* angle of descent (at around 42-43 now).  Dispersion is really good with them and I'm able to fade or draw the ball pretty easily.  At some point I may just swap out the shafts if I can't get the numbers where I'd like them to be.

Got to see these in hand and they are a sharp looking iron. Put them next to several competitors and preferred the look of the X Forged CBs. Nice compact profile.

I saw the full set live in a Golf Galaxy in Myrtle last night and love the look of them .. I also have some ‘18 UT’s and an ‘18 x-forged 7i fwiw

They are the right size and look for me, satin and with a slightly over sized head and thinner top line that a lot of irons in a similar size

MMT at no up charge is a big bonus, 95 has my eye, will try and hit demo in Florida next week

I do not mind the PW but hey I was one of the rare guys that liked the look of my old fav blade PW ... the mp-37

Curious to hear more reviews as well.  I was a big fan of the 18 x forged.  Would love to hear any comparisons between those 2 specifically.

Very interested in these irons. Some of the best iron shots I've consistently hit in a long, long time were with the X-Forged 18 (why did I get rid of them again?!).

Anyone compare the new X Forged CB and the Cobra MIM King Tour irons?

Seems like these two are right in the same bracket of "slightly" oversized players CB irons.

Just hit these in Destin, the feel is WOW, 7i spin at 5900 .. perfect

I think I may need to order with MMT 105 and go 1 strong, 1 flat and plus 3/4”

Even at 33 loft and plus 1/2” steel if was getting low 170’s carry.  The MMT 95 feels great .... maybe will soft step the 105’S

It’s been a bit since I started the thread. In a few words I love them.  Looks, feel, consistency and distance control continue to be excellent.  Some of the best Feeling I have ever owned.  Pretty forgiving too.  Not super game

improvement forgiving but pretty darn good.  And I love the MMT shafts

I hit these yesterday for the first time.  Wow!  Super soft on center contact.  They look great at address as well.  A little more offset than I like, but not enough to completely turn me off.  I would bend them a little weak.  Not crazy about the IO shaft.  Curious to see how they feel with the different weight plates.

I have had my X Forged CB irons for a while now and have hit them at the range a great deal and on the course a few times.  Mine are 5-PW and have the IO shafts in them in the 6.0 flex.  They advertise the IO shafts as having the same DNA as the Xi shafts, but I don't see it or feel it.  The IO shafts feel significantly firmer and the flight is more mid or low mid.  I had my 2013 X Forged shafted with the Xi in the 6.0 and they feel smoother to me.  I am thinking of adjusting the loft on these to get a little higher launch.

@Red4282 - I agree.

In 2006, I bought the original Callaway X-Forged 2-PW with PX6.0, and played them till 2017.  Still have them in the garage, only shafted for guests.  They are great clubs.  Less than a year after I bought them, Callaway introduced a 2nd version that was more forgiving than the first.  First wasn't selling as well as they had hoped.  The Second version did better in the market, but I didn't like what they did to make them easier to hit.

Yea the 07 were if not the GOAT players cavities, its up there. I tried so many sets to find a replacement until i settled on the 620cbs. I just think at this point they should name it something different because its more x20 that xforged in my opinion.
