According to an Argentinian newspaper article I just read, he has an assault charge and a charge for threatening to murder a woman from 2017.  He is also being charged for assaulting another woman and theft in a case from 2018.  The judge in both cases told him not to leave Argentina.  He was in the US in December to get an operation on his hand and Argentina asked he be arrested and extradited to Argentina.  It didn't happen, but his VISA also ran out in December so Argentina knew he would be returning.  Instead, he flew to Rio and we know the rest.

It certainly seems out of left field for something like this to come up. Just goes to show how much a certain level of fame will result in the press jumping on something. I mean, when was the last time you heard anything regarding Angel Cabrera? Two majors yes but he has not been relevant to the mainstream golf fan for a number of years now. Something like this happens though and the media jump all over it. Fully entitled to the presumption of innocence until proven guilty. Surely all involved will be hoping that the process for him will go quicker than it has for Thorbjorn Olesen.

If you have the least bit of fame and you are basically on the run from assault charges concerning women it’s news. It should be news regardless.

I always enjoyed the way El Pato played golf. From birding 18 in the rain to force Scott into a playoff to how he would tee off while the announcer was saying his name. Hope he gets his legal crap taken care of and we see him on the senior tour.

The women and law enforcement could be playing the same angle here. And he also might be guilty. No proof to say for certain
