G425 delivery times

I’m not convinced it’s a product supply problem.  I just think they have been bombarded with orders and it appears the clubs are put together and bent in Scottsdale and they only have so many workers to do the work.  I read somewhere that said they are pulling workers from their office to help build clubs.  I ordered a couple 710 irons on May 3 and I immediately received a July 3 delivery date.

It depends on what is ordered. It isn't solely a product supply problem but it is part of the problem. Limited work capacity, limited supply of some components and a limited work force has been combined with the insane growth in popularity of golf due to the amount of people who started or came back to the game last year.

I received an email from the retailer saying they spoke to Ping and did not receive the expected G425 iron heads and now my order is expected to ship in another 3-4 weeks. April 10 iron order FWIW. Mine were just orange dot, I have to consider whether I should just buy off the rack and have them bent or wait another month.

I ordered a custom G425 hybrid on 4/15 with an estimated ship date of 5/15. I just got an updated ship date of 7/1.

 Here is the message:

We are sorry for the delay on your custom clubs. Our system is currently showing an estimated ship date of 07/01/21. There are currently longer than expected lead times for custom orders.

I ordered a G425 hybrid (and 7w) through a dealer on 3/16 and neither have shipped yet.  All stock setups with TV 360 (no Arccos).  I’m told they should ship this week—fingers crossed!

Based on JWM1 comment and what I've been told, I believe they are out of g425 iron club heads.  My order was stock steel shaft, stock grips, white dot.  Ping rep got back to my retailer--waiting on components add 2 weeks then shipping.  Supposedly I'll be notified when they are in production and when shipping is confirmed.  I understand there's been a bit of a perfect storm in the production and supply chain,  but at some point your selling product that you don't have.  I would have preferred a bit of proactive honesty by Ping,  🥕 on a stick sucks.

It's definitely a supply chain issue.  Big problem is grips.  Many are just not available and it affects all the OEM's.  Shafts are also a problem with many graphite shafts in short supply.  710 irons were pre-covid and they were not really affected by the disruption.  If you were to order a 710 with a weird grip, it might get delayed.

Right, I’m a relatively patient person but the correct thing to do is to say ‘out of stock’ so I can make other plans instead of taking my $1k. I would not have minded 5-6 weeks as quoted but 10 weeks+ and is more than half of my golf season. I could have gone to PGASS and had them bent or bought i210s on ebay.

In their defense, depending on the retailer, some actually did say "out of stock" - but to me the vagueness of availability goes back to the long-standing practice of manufacturers talking us into "pre-ordering" new models, and us being okay with it. They were able to justify inventories via customer interest, so they didn't have too much or too little (and weren't left with huge piles of clubs they then sold off at cost or a loss to second-hand re-sellers in preparation for new model releases), and us marking our calendars for when a new club was going to arrive instead of basing it off what was available (today) in proshops.

At the same time we're in trying times, as the worldwide supply chain of ALL consumer goods has been messed up because of covid-19 - and as golfers wanting clubs, shafts, or even grips, we're just a small part of the picture.
We've just got to be patient.

Agree and also the supply chain is a moving target.  Companies are also being given information by suppliers that is variable.  Couple all of that with extremely high demand such as Ping's case and it makes it nearly impossible to give accurate lead times.

Not a 425, but ordered a Glide 3.0 56* Eye2 with Recoil 95R shaft beginning of April. Finally pinged Carl's about it last week, heard back today and Ping indicates it will ship 21Jun.

Of course they didn't specify what year 🙃

I had ordered a set of G425 irons with Project X LZ, and the stock grips. They were ordered on 5/4 and was told then 6/29. I just got told today that the expected date is 8/23. I asked if there was anything I could change to help and was told that they had all the components but it was due to the fact they are so backlogged in assembly. I decided to cancel and will pick another option later.

Another data point. In Canada

g425 max driver digitally lofted at 8.5 degree with Ping Tour 75 X shaft and GP tour velvet grip

shop ordered on April 28th via local shop. Got email this morning that driver was shipped out on May 5th and should arrive by tomorrow.

pro shop advised me that Tensei AV Raw shaft would take up to 10 weeks so I just went with Tour 75 (I’ll be putting my Ventus blue in this)

g425 max 3 wood and hybrid have estimated ship date for June 1 ( order date April 2nd). These were ordered with Tensei Shafts

hope this helps.

Just got told by the local retailer that the ship date now pushed to June 15th for 3 wood and hybrid. Original order date was April 2 and the reason i got was due to the Tensei shafts.

Just curious- for those of you that ordered multiple, different items (e.g., a max driver with tensei and some Glide 3.0 wedges)... will Ping ship things out as they are finished or do they hold the entire order until it is complete?  I'm wondering if my stock wedges will be put on hold waiting for the driver shaft.

I ordered G425 irons with Recoil F-3's, 5 and 7 wood with Tour regular and hybrid with Tour regular on 3/29 (nine weeks as of last Monday) and was told four weeks.

Have yet to hear anything.

My neighbor ordered G425 irons with Recoil F4's through Dick's four weeks to the day afterwards and was also told four weeks.

He received them last week.

Also ordered a 44" Cameron Select Squareback on 3/29 and same story.

Nothing.

5-PW; -1/2inch shaft; +1 upright blue dot; -1/16" undersize grips (which was a mistake by the fitter).

Order was placed on Apr. 5 and initially quoted 6 weeks. On the 6th week (week of May 17) I called the retailer for an order update and they said it might take another 6 weeks (end of June), bringing the total delivery time to ~12 weeks. They said component shortage issues, but they couldn't specify what part specifically, I'm guessing the grips.

Surprisingly on May 28 (week 7-8), the irons were delivered to me. They didn't even give me a tracking number, so I didn't know they were on the way and luckily i was home. Even with a pushed back delivery date, you might get a surprise and get them sooner than the delayed delivery date.

Ordered 3/6 G425 5-U, TT Elevate (R). On 5/25 the shop told me ping had my order ready except the 7 iron shaft was backordered and would not be in until the end of July. He offered me the demo 7 from his fitting cart and I figured that was better than waiting until (possibly) the end of July. So they shipped the order, less 7i and I received them today 6/4.
