Best thing to come out of the 90s was gangster rap. The Wu Tang Clan for example, biggie and Tupac etc.

 

Too many Wu Tang songs to link. But they were legit pioneers. I guess Dre and Ice Cube had more commercial success as celebrities afterwards, and started the whole rap as mainstream thing. 

 

But Wu Tang brought it to another level. I like all kinds of music but to me the 90s belong to Nirvana and the Wu Tang clan

 

Ok I'll link one...the RZA makes modern rappers look ridiculous

This a 90s band I always really enjoyed. No guitar, super quirky, but they were really good.  This are my two favorites. The lead singer died in 99 on stage of a heart attack in Italy.

I have family in the Boston area and the 90s are out of my demographic, so this band is also from Boston. I am excluding the Grunge bands which I also really like.

 

 

Just some of the smaller bands from the 90s bc it was dominated by grunge.
