Worst golf balls ever

Wanted to start a fun one.  What are some of the worst golf balls you guys have ever used? 

We always joked about slazenger x-outs.  I just found something called Dixon earth.  Holy smokes feels like the worst ball I ever felt.  It was like hitting a rock.  🙂

the worst balls I find on the course are Nitros.. no idea what model they are, but they are literally stones.  the make the old Top Flites feel like balatas(new Top Flites are actually really decent).

The dixon balls were being given away at a scramble I was playing. The story on them is they are made with 100% recycled material. My response was that I was more than happy to re-recycle them.

Spalding Molitor’s, Players, Yellow Tornado’s (Showing my age here hey: fellow UK’ers 🤣) Balls with ‘Titanium Distance stamped all over them; or anything from Sports Direct 😳

have you ever hit the Spongebob golf balls from Walmart? or the Emoji Balls from Walmart?? HORRIBLE balls...worst than a range ball.

the ones I throw into the pond/woods at the end of a blowup hole because it's clearly the balls fault and has nothing to do with my various swing flaws 😑

Cut Blue.  Wanted to love them due to price point.  Needing to replace a ball after each wedge shot due to the cover getting cut, and actually embedding sand into the cover on a bunker shot made the price not so great

I was in costco once and bought a case of Kirkland signature golf balls.  High price for poor performance.  Has to be the worst ball ever made.

I forgot about them.  I also received some in a scramble out on the course.

The Spaulding ball at Wal-Mart

I bought a dozen and they were noticeably bad

Easily a club short and no feel on the greens

I saw some people had durability issues but I didn't play them that long to find out

After 3 holes I went back to a Z-Star

 

I don't care how much they cost, they are pure trash 💩💩💩💩💩

Anything VICE makes, I wasn't impressed when I tried them and their marketing team makes me cringe.

When I started golfing I tended to be gifted a lot of Dunlop DDH III.  The DDH III dimple pattern was the absolute ugliest thing in golf.  Made it feel like using a Top Flite XL was a real treat compared to the DDH III.

No I haven't but definitely seen those at walmart.  You just may have the winner here.

I hear ya.  Been there many times.  I've even snapped a few wedges... 😞

hate to say it but I agree 100%. Very unimpressed with their ball...even the Pro+...Just so uninspiring when there are balls like the Prov1 and Bridgestone Tour BX are out there

Oh man you're taking me way back with the Molitors.  Now I feel old.  As for more recent offerings, the Mojos and the Maxfli Noodles are right there as some of the worst balls ever.

Wouldn't call them the worst balls ever made.  However, they don't perform to the levels they tout.  Sometimes you have to bite the bullet.  With golf balls, I find that you get what you pay for.  Exception being the Snell line.

Agreed. What I don't understand is why would one buy balls like Snell, Vice, Kirkland, Cut, etc...if you can buy barely used non water balls for like $1.50 a ball...

 

I personally get them on Ebay...I have my people on there, but I just don't get it.

I agree with you with the exception of the Vice Pro+. That's been a really good ball for me. I bought about 12 dozen ProV1s during their annual loyalty campaign last month so I don't have to try to find a ball similar to the ball they're trying to copy. I just bought plenty of the prototype ball.

You'd be surprised how good the Snell MTB line is.  I have 8 boxes at home.  For 30 bucks a pop, it does just about everything the tour balls can do.  The MTB-X is firmer than most tour balls, but that's perfectly fine with me.

Haha! Hey I say try it, see what you think. didn't like the flight of it with wedges, it was shorter than my Tour BX with driver, had less spin around the green and didn't like the feel of it off the putter...but it is what it is!

That is the ONLY ball I haven't tried yet basically. Hope I find one in the wild...maybe ill give it a shot...but for now...Prov1 & Tour BX...personally don't like really firm balls...

Of the premium end of the market. Nike One. Maxfli Revolution Solid. DT Tru Soft. Going back a while old Ping balls. Penfold Commando has a special circle in hell.

Balls react differently to the handler (pun intended). If you're a high spin player then the Vice Pro+ might suck for you, while the BX's firmness would work better. The BX would rival the MTB-X, V1X Left Dash, and Chrome Soft X in firmness. For me, most other balls aren't as firm as those.
