Holy cow!  I completely forgot about the Club Specials.

I loved the Club Special as a kid, at least it wasn’t a TopFlight or a Blue Ridge Wilson lol

I believe the worst current ball is the Warbird, can’t believe people buy those.

You all have forgotten about the all time worst golfball ever manufactured ... from a major manufacturer as well.

Taylor Made Inergel golf balls.  They were packaged in those tupper-ware'esque 'air-tight' sleeve containers for a reason ...

remember?  once exposed to 'air', you had about 1 hour before they turned into complete mush.

No joke.  Early ball experiment by Taylor Made that went horribly, horribly wrong.

My vote goes to these..

My three buddies and I went to a PGA event. They were giving a sleeve of these out at one of the booths at the event. I don't remember what we had to do to get a sleeve but we all got a sleeve.

The next time we went out to play a round together we all broke them out on the first tee. By the third hole my buddies thought they were crap.

We use to trade balls. If someone found a ball another player liked we would do a swap if they had a ball that you liked. My thing was collecting logo balls. The guys all knew this so they would hold out unless I traded two balls for the logo ball.

In this case they thought the Inergels were so bad I traded one ball for their three balls and the container. They were laughing at me and couldn't believe I liked them. The next tee box I dropped all the Inergels in the trash can and put those nice containers in my bag. I didn't like the balls either but I thought the containers were worth the trade. I still have the containers.

I only hit one of these balls once. I had found one in the weeds on the previous hole, and teed off with it, making my only hole-in-one. After that it went into the plaque, and I never played one again. So for me, this ball has a perfect record.

Spalding Molitor’s, Players, Yellow Tornado’s (Showing my age here hey: fellow UK’ers 🤣) Balls with ‘Titanium Distance stamped all over them; or anything from Sports Direct 😳

😁 I remember the Molitors)) When I was a kid we would walk through the longer rough and find umpteen golf balls, Pinnacles and Titleists mostly, Ultra, Top Flite, etc. If you found a Molitor you would usually hit it deeper into the rough with your wedge))

I recall the pink Flying Lady golf balls were also a regular find) And for a period in the early 80's Ping had a 2 toned ball, which I assume weren't good as they were dropped from the market

Reminded me..... lol

Got a buddy with 4 aces, really good player, has a plaque with all his prominently displayed. Three nice white Titleist balls and  a orange Splading rock. Story is he was hitting so bad one day, to change it up had someone toss him a ball from their bag just before he hit the ace shot.

I loved the Tupperware, still have some and use it for my ProVs, keeps them nice and fresh

Oh man you're taking me way back with the Molitors.  Now I feel old.  As for more recent offerings, the Mojos and the Maxfli Noodles are right there as some of the worst balls ever.

"Molitor" was the guy who invented Top Flite. The originals were meant to be The Lexus of Top Flite to honor him. i guess they got over it ??

The MacGregor Muirfield was the worst balata ball ever made.  It flew like a wounded mallard and the cover was as durable as onion skin.

About 40 years ago the Macgregor Tourney ball was so bad you could put the entire dozen through a test ring (for roundness) and only about 3 would pass.  In addition the first time you hit one of them it was immediately out of round and would wobble when putted.  I heard that Jack Nicklaus played them under contract and still won majors.  What would his record have been with a Pro V1?

I think they were called Dunlop DDH 110 distance. They went far but zero spin or feel.

Also I think circa 1998ish Top-Flite had balls called System C and system T that were supposed to be somehow optimized to work with either the Callaway GBB Driver or the Ti-Bubble Taylor Made driver.

I kid you not.

As a broke golfer in the 90's I was a big fan of the Top Flite XL2000's, the ones that were supposed to feel softer and spin more. I'd be curious to play one now for old time's sake.

NOOOOOOO!

A few years back when I was getting back into golf, I took all my balls and began chipping them around the yard.  The XL2000s were the worst ones I'd found - couldn't hit them a consistent distance; they'd always  land way short or completely overshoot the target!
