Why do you want to put your rangefinder to a cart stick, not wear to a belt?

I see some straps or magnetic straps to put rangefinders to a cart. 

I usually wear to my belt, as the case has a belt loop and it doesn't bother me.

I've only seen it in Asia, especially South Korea. 

At least, it's extremely prevalent based on social media.

I would do this. I'm often not anywere near the cart when I need to get my distance, so having it clipped to my belt would easier than just setting it on the ground.

I attach my rangefinder to a headband I wear. That way it's not only on my body at all times but very close to my eyeballs--which I use in conjunction with the rangefinder to measure distances. It's very efficient. I estimate I save about 1-2 minutes per round using this method.

I don't even like having too many tees in my pocket, let alone a 6 ounce device strapped to my belt.

 

Plus having to open and close the case every time seems like a major pain.

I simply keep my laser in my pocket while playing.  Its small enough (Bushnell V4) so no problem. Plus it eliminates taking it in and out of the case.  I would think having it on my waist might be a distraction.  Both methods help greatly in preventing loss or theft.

If I'm riding, which I rarely do, I typically just toss it into one of the cupholders on the cart.  When walking, I put it in a pouch on my push cart.  I don't think I'd trust using a magnetic strip, as I could easily envision forgetting it or it falling off after hitting a significant bump.

Always wear it on my belt. Before getting a yardage I'll always loudly ask "do you feel lucky punk?" then proceed to quickdraw my rangefinder.

I push a cart (Bag Boy) which has a pouch under the handle.  I keep it there.  I don't see myself constantly opening or shutting a case attached to my belt or hooking or unhooking a lanyard.

It stays on the bag, in its case, or in a cupholder if I'm riding.

I have it on a magnetic lanyard attached to my bag. No in-and-out of the pouch and the two magnets (one on D-clip at bag and the other on rangefinder) seek each other when they get close.

Cupholder is the only way to go in a cart.  I lost my Pro XE by leaving it magnetized to the cart....my friend did the same last Summer

For me, even better than a cup holder, I place a folded, white hand towel in the open compartment in front of me in the dash. That way anything I place in there, be it phone, rangefinder, whatever, stands out so I don't forget it.

For me hanging from my golf bag or in a cup holder if riding.  Couldn't imagine anywhere on my person.  And can't understand the trend towards magnetically attaching it to the cart roof support.  I have more friends who have left rangefinders on those carts after a round than I care to think about.

Great idea on the towel.  I put my near hard over iphone case on and put my phone in the cubby hole.  When I took it out on the 5th hole to check any messages. The back was already pretty scratchy up from moving around. 🤦

 

I have since just put it in one of the side sleeves on my bag.  Since I only check it a couple times a round.

Our pro shop has at least a dozen and half of Range finders in a lost and found box.
