Deschamps Putters is BACK!!!!!!!

Hey Guys

 

I've been joking with a few of you lately about my super secret, NDA level putter. It brings me great joy to tell you that as of today---Deschamps Putters is BACK in business!

 

For some of the old timers here. You might remember Deschamps putters as the guy who made brass , blade like putters about 10-15 years ago. They were beautiful and very customizable. MtlJeff owned 3 of them---and i became friends with Serge (at the time user name Sergizmo here).

 

Roughly a year ago, Serge told me he was thinking of getting back in business, and i told him whatever the cost, i wanted to have the first putter he made off the assembly line, to which he obliged. I received that putter about 2 months ago, and have been waiting ever since to tell you guys about it. I've been into clubs a long time- and i gotta say this is really exciting for me. Serge is a class act and a great putter maker

My putter is on the homepage, first one off the line! If you're looking into a new putter, especially an Anser style one in either a crisp or rounded finish---these things are incredible!!!! And Serge is a true craftsman and uses the highest caliber equipment and peripherals.

I don't get on with Anser style headshapes... but if I did i'd always choose brass. 😉

 

And the leather headcover is a bonus too - very nice.

 

MtlJeff- what's the other centre shafted one you have there.. would like to see more of that one too.

Great looking putters and head covers. Like the idea of using bronze.  Hopefully we will see additional head styles as well.

 

Nice to have more options up here in Canada.

The center shafted one is his original blade, he isn't offering those anymore, stopped making them in around 2012. I can add some more pics of it though just because it's a classic!

This is great news thanks for sharing @MtlJeff!  I loved the Deschamps brass blades and sadly never got around to ordering one. @sergizmo welcome back and can’t wait to see some of your new creations.

If you check out the site--one thing i'll say is that is that other than the putter itself--the entire "package" is just really , really cool

 

When i got my putter i told Serge it looked like something you'd find in Francis Ouimet's bag except way more modern. It's like modernized old school. The leather grip with the black shaft and brown leather headcover is just so classy. You'd be hard pressed to find a nicer looking package all in all. Like leave this thing next to a putting green and you'll get 100 questions on it

The cover is definitely unique and has piqued my interest. Hopefully the reboot is successful. This price point has a lot of stellar competition though.

Also lastly, just FWIW i paid full price for my putter --Serge did not give it to me or ask me to start this thread. In fact i've been bugging him for a couple of months to start it LOL

 

It's not an inexpensive putter, so yes it's definitely high end materials and in that range

 

So i just wanted to clarify that i paid for mine and am a customer, not some wannabe influencer LOL

Dang! But you're so good at it! I see tic tock fame and world travel posts from the most exotic locations in your future! Seriously though, great thread for a great maker. Love the entire package.

Oh i just meant i'm not an influencer here. I still have a ton of butt pics on instagram that i use to get free beach trips with.

Always nice to see a Canadian putter maker out here.  I think the price tag is a little steep for what I'm looking at....but maybe that's just me.

Also note the flat groove-less face. Gives a nice firm feel with a lot of feedback. Very nice clicky sound

I definitely remember Serge from back in the day!! 

 

Pretty sure I remember a video he posted of his milling setup that was in his house and thought it was awesome!! He was doing a lot of the stuff that's "trendy" now from a boutique aspect long before others were, super excited he has started it back up! 

 

And I think only appropriate as a fellow lefty, that a North of the Boarder Putter Maker's return to the ring is for a fellow lefty. 

 

Onto the putter though, DAMN that thing is amazing!!!  Finish is awesome, huge fan of the tri-sole and honestly, seems like he really just spot on nailed the whole aesthetic you wanted.  Which doesn't surprise me at all since I remember Serge being exceptionally detail orientated and very much willing to give his customers as close to exactly what they wanted as he could. 

 

Glad to see him back and congrats on the nice flat stick!!

Stuart makes a really nice putter, have a couple of them. He was my go to when Serge was retired! I have an #002 and an original Northwood

 

The Deschamps will be a bit clickier sounding and feel more zero-dwell, and the SGC a bit more muted and "soft", at least that's been my experience. So they are a bit different

i actually first saw the northwood on an old post here and that’s what got me researching them. I’d never heard of them until then. I also have a new lab mezz on the way too. I’ll have to see which one wins out.

Does he offer different face milling options? I only saw flat face on his IG feed.
