White Hot OG #7 CH…anyone gaming?

I stopped in a EW and rolled a .#7 with the CH neck….was super surprised how well it rolled and line up. Curious who has bought it and gaming it? How do you like it?

Not specifically gaming one but you're talking about one of the most widely used inserts ever and one of Odyssey's best selling head shapes. Put both of those together and I would say it's a pretty darn good combination.

I really liked it when I tested it and I’m not a plumber neck guy. It has about 20 degrees of toe hang which I found nice. I just have a hard time lining that neck style

Rolled it at my local shop and it looks and feels great. On the list to check out should my gamer misbehave. I'm also never been a plumber's neck guy but this one speaks to me.

This is going to be my new gamer. Just rolled it against a bunch and made everything with it. And liked the version without the Stroke Lab shaft.

Definitely looking at this putter. Been wanting a #7 head for a long time and I like they have a solid line on top of the blade instead of the dots. Have an extra KBS CT Tour putter shaft that I think would work nicely with a white hot insert and make the face a little more responsive.

I have one and it’s been out twice so far with good results. I like how it sets up and the toe hang is mellow. I also just picked up the new Scotty fang 7.5 and it’s pretty great too. It’ll be interesting to see which I end up preferring.

I’m a huge fan of plumbers neck fang mallets. This one might be only retail model. I have a tour Toulon Las Vegas with plumbers neck and find that head shape to be perfect to my eye… compared to #7 the Toulon is more compact and has a straight rear flange

I have been using one for about two months and absolutely love it.  Probably currently have over a dozen putters including a custom fit Artisan, Toulon Las Vegas, PXG Bat Attack and the 7 CH is firmly in the bag. It is the least expensive putter I own but for whatever reason it is the best for me.

I thought this was the putter I was waiting for my entire life.  After rolling it in the shop there was just something really off for me, everything went way left, the balance just seemed off.  Maybe it was a funky build, but I was disappointed.

The toe hang on this putter is less than you would expect from a plumbers neck/crank hosel. Specs on the Odyssey website quote 20* toe hang, but it seems to be less than that. For reference, the Spider is 32* according to TM. I would put the #7 CH in the very slight toe hang category. The face comes back to square very easily and putts more like a face balanced putter than I was expecting. I have mine shafted with a KBS CT Tour and I really like how the white hot insert feels with a firm steel shaft. Putts are coming off a little shorter and miss to the left compared to the spider tour.

I have one in the rotation and I love it!  Have not gamed a mallet in a long time, but really enjoying it so far.  Love the top line, which helps me with alignment.  Super stable and feels very nice.  For as soft as it feels, the ball comes off the face with good speed.

I got one in today and snuck in 9 with it.  I rolled the dice on the Stroke Lab shaft version, felt good in the store, but never tried counterbalance.  Did not care for it, felt fine inside 10 feet, pretty awful results outside that compared to my gamer.  I attribute it to the shaft, probably going to plug a steel one in and give it a go.  Love the head shape

From what I understand the CH has a little less toe hang.

I picked one up with a stroke lab shaft. So far I love it. The alignment is point and shoot. I haven’t really liked inserts since I had an original white hot putter. I realized I don’t like inserts except white hot inserts. They feel so predictable. Soft on short delicate putts and firm when I need to get it to the hole. The plumbers neck looks perfect at address.

I just got one to be my travel putter since my Toulon Vegas is welded and rare, this OG 7 is very nice. The feel is much softer than the Toulon milled, but the setup is basically the same and that is what I was after. I think the OG puts a very nice forward roll on the ball too.

I noticed that Xander Schauffele, who had put one of the new models in play after using an O-Works #7 CH Red for several years, has gone back to the Red model.  What is weird, is that he is now using some sort of black insert, it was a white hot insert before.  Anyone know what the black insert is?

I would assume that it's the micro-hinge insert.

I don't think so, it is a solid black color.  He was using the same putter before, but with the white hot.   My guess it is a custom white hot, just colored black.

Only other all black insert I know of would be DFX but too far away to tell so you might be right, could just be a white one painted or dyed black.  The DFX is marshmellow soft though in my opinion so it'd be on the total opposite end of the spectrum to the Microhinge. 

 

Still glad I hung onto my Left OG Works one though!

I have used the #7 OG White Hot for over a year now which is quite a feat for a putter to last that long in my bag. So far it's not going anywhere nor have I been tempted to look at another putter since putting this in play. Mine is the double S bend shaft not the plumbers neck. 

 

I am after a couple of heavier weights for the sole to try if anyone can point me in the right direction?

Same here. I was so excited that the guys at my local shop where I'm a regular sold it to me a few days before the actual release. I love the design and am a big Odyssey fan in general, but I couldn't get comfortable over the thing to save my life. As of late, I've been having a very hard time finding a putter that sits flat enough to my eye. Not sure if it's related or not, probably is, but a lot of putters appear closed to me as well.

Put this putter in the rotation and it’s a great flat stick.  Prefer the steel shaft.  Would love to see Toulon release their version in green / cream colorway
