Incredible. That's some poor decision making on Jin Young's part. Take the penalty, drop back by the bridge, and move on. Costly two strokes.

J.Y. Ko what are you doing?

That is mind-blowing.  Exactly the kind of decision JYK never screws up.

Finally caught up, that was really hard to watch. I feel her actions were based on her previous hole, because those weren't the decisions you expect from a World No. 1. I hope she can regroup and enjoy a free run at it tomorrow.

Alison Lee went to a Thursday night beer bash?  Its been downhill since then...

All jokes aside, it is good to see her (generally) playing better.  I watched her and Minjee a lot when they first came out on tour.  Obviously the paths diverged a bit.  Wonder if Alison will ever get a LPGA win?

I think Alison can win out there, I just wonder if Alison thinks Alison can win out there. Me thinks her old party pals are growing up a bit, which might be leaving her spending more time on her golf game.

Yeah, definitely can win if you compare to the random list of winners on tour over the years.  It's a combination of playing well for a week and getting lucky (either a bounce or putt or just the fact that someone else doesn't play lights out).

So does she get lucky?  Or put in the time to have a couple/few year stretch where she has a handful of reasonable chances to win?  Will see...

Yeah, I  think her decision was more reminiscent of this guy than Roy McAvoy (Tin Cup).

Ahhh, JVDV and the Barry Burn/Birn  😄

Just watching the Sunday morning replay and I don't know that I've ever laid the responsibility at the door of a caddie vs. the player but you could tell the minute he was down there he was encouraging that shot and I'm sitting here (quietly because my wife and two dogs are still asleep) saying, "noooooooooooooooooo . . ."

Hadn't watch R3 'Live' i.e. wasn't sure what you fine folks were talking about w.r.t. JYK's decision-making... until i saw this i.e. her 17th hole JVDV! (hence i belatedly got @Golf Dino's JVDV reference)

@Stooch was right (and funny) though, re the "Tin Cup" joke!

I was glad they showed different angles on that first JYK attempt.  If it was just the one behind-the-ball angle, it didn't look like a particularly hard shot.  When they showed other angles, you could see how deep that ditch was and how fast she'd have to get the ball up to clear the wall.

She can certainly play free and aggressive today, but unless Nasa has a seriously off day that hole knocked her out of the picture.  Hard to see a 63 on that course.  We'll still get lots of screen time because golf channel, though.

Prior to R3, I was thinking Nasa needed at least a 4 stroke lead to hopefully fend off everyone else and win.   IMHO, don't think Nasa is "clutch" ... Putting can be suspect at times and this is magnified in close matches to clinch the crown...

Now that she has that 4 stroke lead, I feel better about the fact that I picked her to win at least once this year in that forum which asked who amongst the 10 would win this year 🤣

Still, I've learned a lot from these "4 stroke leads" -- it's never over till it's over.  Hideki had a 4 stroke lead heading into R4 in 2020 Masters, a lot of the pundits kept saying it was a tough lead to surmount, yet, he ended up barely winning.  Sure he bogeyed the last hole to end up winning by one but a 4 stroke lead doesn't give you a lot of "leeway" in R4 esp if you're not really solid in putting.

I'm rooting for Nasa to win, of course, but in a bizarre way, will not be suprised if JYK actually comes from behind with 6 straight birdies to snatch it away!

The LPGA could start early on TV,  the Seniors are on the 18th and it's 4 PM and they are listed in the entire window before the LPGA

I hope they do, I'm bored watching CBS' PGA tag team golf right now.... I'm more just listening to Dottie Pepper's commentaries rather than watching, truth be told...

As for Nasa, since I was so bored, I managed to get from twitter (see below).  Which only proves to me that she needs that 4 stroke lead, especially with a 0-4 record in playoffs -- the US Open one, admittedly I was rooting for Yuka - that wasn't Nasa's "fault" per se, but she did have her chances there.   The other 3 I don't recall the details if she "lost to the better player" or "gave it away/couldn't deliver the goods"...   I do recall her winning in 3 rounds last year due to rain! (again, that's no pressure since we weren't sure if it ended after 3 or 4 rounds!)

At 23, Nasa Hataoka whose mother named her for

so she would aim for the stars is on the verge of hyperspace. World No. 12, 5 wins; yet 0-4 in playoffs, 2 of them majors. She's up 4 with 18 to go at

. After staring down Jin Young Ko in R3, this could be a giant leap.
