Anybody coming off of the V-grind, and if so, what did you go with and how do you like it? I'm considering going with the D grind in a 60 and bending it one or two degrees strong to play close to my current 58 degree.

I have had the SM9 Raw with flight lines in 56 and 60.  First, the SM9s are awesome, very similar to a RTX Zip Core in heft.  I really like the higher CG.  I am getting better spin out of the rough and a lower ball flight on half to full shots (not low, just lower which is what I want).  These are fantastic off the fairway tight lies nipping nice 50 - 70 yard shots.

The flight lines are curious.  I do find them helpful for the standard and higher shot reference, but the flight line that helps with setup of a lower shot is not quite working for me.  In the 56 it is ok, but in the 60 I am not sure on this.  Using Parker's recommendation to put the flight line pointing to your nose is a bit uncomfortable in the 60 and it seems to take all the bounce out which sure, you get lower flight, but you also risk digging.  Where I do like it is when I am just off the fringe and have a short chip; then I can use the line to setup and get a low check spin to roll nicely.

I will be very interested when Parker releases his longer videos on using the flight line.

Softness of SM9 raw impact is perfect.  Compared to PXG Milled, a better feel, the PXGs were too soft; it felt like the ball was on the face forever.

Best vokeys I have played in a long time.

Thanks for the feedback on the flight lines.

Made the jump from 8s to 9s after wearing the 8s out last season. Will be adding in a Low Bounce K or M grind in the 59 slot once things firm up here.

Anybody order theirs with the flightlines ?

(lol, sons posted the same time as me)

I have them coming with flight lines.  I sharpies the same lines on other wedges and really liked the idea.  For me person my, it is more of a mental cue to not “overdo” the face / hand manipulation on certain shots.

They still won’t really rust, but gives them that actual tumbled gunmetal look.

For the CLR, leave them in maybe 2-3 hours to start. You can use super fine sandpaper, steel wool or I use a green scotch brite pad. Rub them in a consistent direction just to get the finish where you want. You can repeat until you get to the darkness you like. I actually don’t let them go for more then about 4 hours. Mine look similar to the pics above. Maybe slightly darker.

Oh they'll rust if you want them too. I soaked mine 3 to 4 times in saltwater after they're CLR baths. The best way to really get them rusty is then to let them air dry on a more humid day outside.

I'm looking at going to the SM9 once my SM8 wedges wear out. If I start playing more, it'll be around the New Year. I did have a chance to hit them (indoors) and they almost felt a touch softer than the SM8.

Any recommendations on grind and bounce in Florida?

was thinking of going 50/12/f, 54/10/s and 60/8/m

I have the exact same 50 and 54 but have a 58D12. I just ordered a low bounce 58K today that comes in 8-10 weeks. Been too curious so I just decided what the hell

When I moved from VA to FL I was so lost on how to play my wedges. The courses I played were extremely tight lies around raised greens. I had 60M, 56S, and 52F8. Courses might be different where you are, but mine were firm a lot of the year. I mostly just had to change how I chipped. Use the bounce way more than VA, and no more putting the ball way back in my stance.

The M grind in the 58* is amazing! Thinking of replacing my SM8 54* D with it (I know SM8 had M grind). With a toe down chipping technique, I find the M grind a lot better than D from the fairway (what the website recommended).

Feels great in my hands.

I just can't dial in the 58S.  I played 60m previously.  The S is brutal from our crap bunkers.  I might have to try something new.  The 58S isn't working.  Good for chipping but that's about it.

I finally received my new 56-S and a 60-M a few days ago in Raw finish - I ordered them back in April.

I've taken them out twice and so far I love them.  I played the SM8 56-S and 60-S previously and they were good.

I tend to open the face a lot around the greens so I went 60-M grind this time and its really made a difference.  Way more versatile.

I have an SM7 50-F that's still in the bag.  I've been considering upgrading to the SM9, but the SM7 still treats me very well.  It's mainly a full swing club, but I use it occasionally for bump and run shots.

I fit more guys on Vokey than most brands. The bounce and grind options are pretty well covered

so you can put newer players on them and a seasoned player has a lot of options depending on where

they're playing. Out here we got dessert golf, club golf and muni golf and Vokey has all those bases covered.

Awesome you like their product. Best wedges for sure.

What’s the advantage of going vokey 48 and 50? I find that these are clubs that are often full swing and would worry a out generating too much spin

My 48 is bent to 47 and the 50 is bent to 51. The 47 takes the place of my “set” pitching wedge. The grooves in the lower lofted vokeys aren’t as “aggressive” as the 54 and up. I use my 48 a lot around the green so I prefer the extra versatility out of the sole.

I was playing a Taylormade hi-toe with low bounce (60.07*). I just hit my T grind for the first time today (so far so good). They sit very similar, actually. I am still having to adjust to the S400 in my lob wedge, as I had Hi-rev in my TM (never changed out stock shaft).

Highly recommend the hi-toe in low bounce, treated me great all year.
