I know...gonna be lows in the 30s and highs in the mid 50s here this weekend. Not sure I'll survive. You can have my gear if I die from exposure while walking the dog...lol

 

I bet that movable weight is about 30g...if I can put a tour adapter on it and drop the loft to 14.5 and then kick that weight back...maybe...just maybe. Callaway adj hosel too. Just put an epic flash on my stiffer Venus black...I have more 3ws than brain cells rt now

Yikes. I worked in chicago for several months while consulting back in 2012/13. Got to -7 there one day. That's brutal stuff. 

 

I wanted to get a morning round in Saturday. But no way I tee off when it's in the 30s.

Every year seems to be worse and worse as I get older haha.  I have been lobbying my wife to pack up the family and move somewhere in the south.  She said I can go right ahead haha.  But, in the meantime, there are a couple places to hit indoors so I can at least scratch the itch a little bit here and there.

-30C = -20F w/o windchill, ish….so ya sucks to not be at La Costa right now LOL

Been -42ºC here with the windchill the last 4-5 days.  Thank god the garage is heated (sim set up)

Regarding the 4 wood/3HL thing:

 

To me, the 13.5/15/19 loft progesssion makes very little sense imo. I'd say 14/17/20 would be far more reasonable.

I have become a big proponent of the 7w.  It's high up on my list of things to try.  Hard part is finding one with a neutral to open face.  But, seems like there are more and more options each year.

The 16.5 degree 4 wood is a great option for people who only carry 1 fairway wood. A 16.5 with draw/fade weight track would be ideal for me. However I don’t think Taylormade has made one since the M1.

Actually the stealth 3HL was 16.5 degrees.

I can recommend you look at a good S/H R15 fairway to fulfill your desires. Please see pic below, with an AD DI 7X this is one of the best 5 woods I have; despite being a steel head. Set at neutral for me. I assume TM would find it difficult to return to an old design. 

Risking offending the meteorologists above I shall stay largely upon the topic. 
 

Talking to someone in the know and his having seen the new driver, no thicker face and a small distance gain. 
 

As is my usual habit, I bought the original stealth plus, driver head only, the other day and tried a Velecore 5R. The weather is so awful I could only get 5 holes in when I compared it v my Sim 2 with a Ventus 5R ( non Velecore ). Slider on neutral, both heads 10.5D.

 

Height & distance identical, Stealth had baby fade, SIM 2 splits fairway but it’s early days. It’s not good conditions for testing this winter. Next December, I might try the new one !
