Best "Budget" Blade Putters

Looking to move back to a blade after a couple years testing mallets. Prefer the Anser/Newport style and open to both milled faces and inserts.

There is a thread on WRX about this putter. It gets good reviews from a lot of people and is certainly budget friendly.

The Odyssey DFX line has a nice blade option but I second (third, fourth?) what other have said in the Cleveland Huntington Beach line. I always pick one up to mess around with at GG and it's a very nice putter for the money.

Best is subjective and budget is personal but like @nicoy3k eBay is littered with putters and there are a lot of formerly very expensive putters for just a few bucks, have to spend a few minutes browsing and then start bidding or buy it.

One thing is the sound you want off the face. Brass gives you a higher note or "ping". Stainless flat face is medium high. Milling takes the sound a bit lower. Copper inserts are quite dull but solid.

I'm not a fan of Odyssey inserts or any other soft insert, but I'd like to try the new carbon inserts. They sound nice judging from YT videos.

I'm a musician so sensitive to sound, but then lots of golfers are.

Putters seem to be becoming less budget friendly overall unfortunately so used is the way to go and for me, I think the Odyssey Protype 2 is fantastic.  Just hard to find in good shape anymore.

Not sure what you consider “budget”, but Taylormade’s TP Soto hydroblast for $200 seems like a good deal. The Kirkland putter already mentioned above for $99 is hard to beat in terms of price. The Odyssey Works, White Hot OG, or DFX lines are nice options for a reasonable price (the Works and DFX models are $150 i believe)

Tommy Armour (sold only at Dicks/GolfGalaxy) is also an underrated budget putter (I think around $100). My buddy has one and is very successful with it

Yeah it’s pretty dependent on the milling in my experience, at least for 303 SS. I own a Phantom X 11 and a 2022 Toulon Chicago, and I significantly prefer the sound of the Toulon with the deep diamond milling. The 11 has a pretty high pitched sound, which I’m not a huge fan of.

Ik it’s not really fair to compare the sound of a fully milled blade to a mallet that’s partially comprised of aluminum, but I assume it’d be a somewhat similar outcome if I were to compare the Toulon with a Newport

Another Cleveland vote.  Solid feeling and all that.

wnder when they brand one srixon and bump the price to take advantage of Srixon’s current iron popularity.
