LIV Boston Invitational - The International - Bolton, MA (*** NO ANTI-LIV, ANTI-PGA DISCUSSIONS/REFERENCES ***)

The rain chased me inside from the course today so I’ve flipped on the tournament. This is the fourth time I’ve watched LIV coverage and I’m always shocked how fast paced the coverage is. It’s like watching soccer or basketball. Something always seems to be happening. I have a younger son who doesn’t have the best attention span and he will watch the LIV coverage a lot longer than traditional coverage.

I’m sure there are some that don’t love the fast pace coverage.

I like the fact that there are times when the announcers actually stop talking and let you take in what's going on. They don't feel the need to fill every second with their yackin'

This is actually getting interesting.  Only thing I hate with the shotgun start is I don't really get a good idea about any of the holes the players have left. So it feels very random as I'm watching it. Typically every PGA tour event I really get a good grasp how the final 3-4 holes play and that adds to the viewing experience on sunday imo.

Wolff swearing quite simply lacks the gravitas of Sean Bean or Brian Blessed doing it.

Na's team the ironheads leading team score, with highest individual  place right now is 8th for one or two of their players, might win the 3 mill team champ.  They lead right now.   So now these guys 5 strokes or more off DJ's lead, are still swinging for 3 mil. with 4 holes to go.

The guy who is DFL on the individual leaderboard - who put up an 87 in round one - stands to win...900k or so between the team check and the last place money? I guess its up for debate if thats a good thing.

It is a good thing if you are that guy. 😉

It's no fun when the rabbit's got the gun.

It's hard for me to get past that and the guaranteed money aspect (well, and the scoreboard...lol).  So many good players and big names now, but I still can't get juiced to watch it.  It's great players hitting golf shots.  Like attending a PGAT practice round.  I think it's going to take years of building some sort of tradition and history to get me to care about this.

I think those who've suggested that LIV go all in on the team aspect are right.  That's ultimately what gets us to care about multimillionaire salaried players in other sports.  The individual competition between these guys does nothing to quicken the pulse for me.

Anybody who says these guys don't care about winning hasn't been watching Matthew Wolff

I second this. The team aspect is kind of growing on me. Sure there's gonna be some weeks where it's a dud but there's so much more volatility. You can get 3-4 shot swings very quickly  (don't blink!).

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
