The new driver does not have carbon in it so to me it sounded higher pitched and more metallic.

Not true, when Matsuyama came on the PGA Tour full time for the first few seasons he was using a Srixon ZR-30 driver.  He broke it on the tee box late in his final round, first victory at the Memorial.

funny.....I can't get the og ZX 5 wood out of my bag despite trying everything last few years, so I would say it's more about having open eyes

do we know if the zx5 LS is actually going to be a retail model? Its not listed on the Australian srixon site with all the other new clubs

That’s what I meant. They always make good stuff but unfortunately will never have the same usage.

Yes. It's listed in the 2023 catalog, listed as part of the fitting cart we'll be getting, and it's listed in the portal for ordering. And I'm sure just pre-ordering right now.

Unfortunately his head was a tour only T201 version of the zx5 that the general public wasn't offered.

I'm kinda surprised the Low Spin version is based on the ZX5, which is the shallower/bigger head version.  ZX7 is more compact head.  ZX5 is larger, higher MOI.  Then the Low Spin is a ZX5 with the weight forward, and it the only one offered in 8.5* (9.5* and 10.5* for the others.)

Upcharge for ventus and tour ad is very reasonable. You can get one of thes with a premium shaft for around the same price as a stock driver from other oems….

When I got to custom order on the website, all I get is standard shafts. I don’t see GD or any others

Tha's a good one. I'm a big fan of their irons and balls but have never been tempted by their offerings in the long end of the bag. They must be popular outside the US. Otherwise, why bother?

Our shop actually fits a surprising amount of their gear, and even more surprisingly, to our juniors.  We constantly hear their feedback that people are walking up to their bags and asking, "Srixon, what's that?"
