Justin Rose’s custom irons

From his IG story, it looks like he’s going down the same route as Adam Scott with some custom iron heads created to his specs. To me it looks like a mixture of some Miura’s, Mizuno and Titleists.

If it weren't for his logo stamped on the back, they'd look like every other Asian made blade blank that is available.  I'm sure they have some grinding here and some shaping there but otherwise, a blade is a blade is a blade.

Look like non 20th Muirfields to me--- Now it may be the angle or lighting of the pic but a couple appear to be reverse muscle aka like 925 Tommy Armours

Yeah, I think the devil is in the fitting details for him and his visual preferences much like Adam with his preference for offset. Rose has talked about liking a high toe to make the iron feel like it sits more upright without actually having it's measured lie angle much higher. Given the other blades he has bounced between I wouldn't be surprised if he just want elements from all of them in a single package. 

Then he'll shelve them after half a season and go back to P730s or something. 😆

Would be pretty sweet to see some of those old Pro82 molds come out of hiding and into a bag. I bet Clay Long has a stash set aside.

MB 101 all day long.  Back in 2017 Miura made him a 1 off set but never gamed them due to him signing with TM and the Rose proto irons.

That Honma deal always felt like the strangest thing - never seemed natural.  I think the wtf moment for me was he - at least initially - was playing the proprietary Vizard shaft in the driver.  Nothing against it, I'm sure its a fine shaft but that just seemed really strange and suspect.

And the whole thing seemed to go downhill and unravel so quickly.  Likely some NDA's in place but I hope someday we get to hear the whole story on this.

Yeah I remember that too, he also played one of the high end shafts in his driver (he might have been in the Pro Orange at the time) and all of a sudden goes to that unknown shaft, it must have been alright but I think ££££s had something to do with it. The shaft probably tested well on the range and then felt wrong under tournament pressure after the deal was signed. Who knows, but I haven't heard of that Vizard since.

IIRC he knew someone on staff there that got the whole thing going and then they left Honma, leaving him with people there he didnt like or know I guess.

 

And as mentioned above the whole Honma shaft thing didnt help and is holding them back to this day.

Oh sorry.  I guess I made the mistake of assuming that a CUSTOM forging business could make more than one iron.  My mistake.
