Last time I checked, you could order the Heavy version on DSG/GG website through custom options

Just got a Super Select Squareback 2. Great to look down at, blade but enough substance. Good alignment and puts a nice roll on the ball. Excellent distance control. Fingers crossed that this one can stay in the bag.

Any feedback on the golo 6.5?  I have the 2012 golo select.  Does the super select feel golo feel similar? I did a blind buy purchase of a custom 6.5 but while I wait, I want to know y’all’s thoughts.

I’ll circle back when mine comes in. ordered via club champion after doing a SAM Puttlab fitting this spring that recommended mid-mallet and 30-45. What pushed me to wait for the new Golo 6.5 was borrowing my brother’s original black mist golo. Felt like a great putter compared to my last odyssey pro hot blade.

 

6.5 felt great in the store and natural! Given the listing as “near max” toe hang for 6.5, “near-min” for 6, and the original being 20-30 degrees I wanted to try both 6 and 6.5 out. 6.5 was instantly the one.

 

Had good numbers with original via biotech or whatever system it was at Golf Galaxy 92-94. Numbers went up with the 6.5 94-96 whatever that means. I went with 34.5 and the heavier weights that go in the 34. 

 

(This is all coming from a pretty poor putter lol)

I own a 2012 Golo select too. I’m personally slightly hesitant about any of the new Scotty’s rn because it seems like they transitioned to a much lighter shaft.

 

My 2021 Phantom X11 weighs roughly the same as my 2012 GoLo, despite my 2012 GoLo having a grip that is about 25 grams lighter and a head-weight that is about 10 grams lighter. I have trouble with distance control with my Phantom and i feel like it’s related to the shaft and overall weight distribution.

 

I’d be interested to hear how your new GoLo feels in comparison to your 2012 version

 

My assumption is that they started using a lighter shaft whenever they transitioned to the heavier “pistolini/pistolero plus” grips. I suppose it’s possible that different shafts are used between the current Selects and Phantoms, but i doubt it. They won’t release ANY information regarding shaft specs, i’ve tried asking.

after Scotty they should do it with their putters, not yakking on a podcast. If Scotty starts copying those LA Golf putters, he is in trouble. The LA Golf putters might be the worst new release I have ever rolled. Just awful, dead feeling putters. They’re in a fancy display sitting right next to the Scottys at the GG in Fairfax, Va., and the fitter told me that of those he has fit who roll both, zero have gone with LA Golf. First time you roll one, it feels like something is wrong with it. They should scrap that lineup and try again.
 

Scotty needs a tweak at most. The putters still feel fantastic and the change in the new lineup is double milling for a softer feel for those who want it. These aren’t the same as past heads. The bottom plate on the putters conceals a lot of weight redistribution. MOI is plenty high and high MOI in putters is already way overrated.

People just suck at putting and that’s all there is to it. Not much to improve on in IMHO as it comes to SC putters. People believe internet hype over what their eyes and hands are telling them so they’ll keep spending.

I just got a 6 and so far so good. In the shop I was making way more straight putts than with the Newport, 9.5, and Plus models. I tried a 5.5 as well but this thing was bang on. Having a little give with like 10* of toe hang, it allowed me to track my path better and let the face do its thing naturally. I wasn’t fighting nearly as much with this than the others mentioned above. Stoked to try it on course soon once this rain passes. On my Perfect Mat, it’s money.

I have my custom order of the 6.5 arriving tomorrow and I can’t be more excited.  Got it with the red pistolini grip too.  Can’t wait to roll the rock with it

Are Scotty’s “price restricted”? DSG had a new Super Select Squareback2 but the top line was scratched badly. I asked the young man if it could be discounted. He went and checked and his answer was”they’re price restricted”. Said they send it back to Scotty. Never heard this before! I was paying full price and he apologized for not being able to drop the price. I told him no harm no foul!

So far I love it.  Played a 9 the day I got it.  Took me a few holes to get used to it but got dialed in by the 6th hole.  Knocked in a 20 footer for birdie on 9 to finish.  The increased MOI on this is noticeable and is extremely forgiving.  Still debating on whether I want to keep the steel shaft in but so far so good.  It feels even better without the new pistolero/pistolini plus grips which I dislike.

A stability shaft.  I’ve used a stability in most of my putters over the years.

That’s strange it added a couple weeks since 35” is a stock length (unless you got an aftermarket shaft).  Anyways that’s exciting man, I can’t wait to hear how you get along with yours.  If I had to nitpick, I wish the golo had a deeper face.  I’m coming from a Betti queen b 10, and a Goodwood G7 so I’ve gotten used to the deeper face.  Luckily so far it hasn’t affected me too much outside of aesthetics at address.

I was in the market for buying a new putter but really had no idea what I wanted.  My current putter is a Newport 2.6 (center shaft) that I must have bought like over 10 years ago.

 

Walked into Golf Galaxy and the only putter that really caught my eye was the new Super Select Del Mar.  Just gravitated to the feel and look at address.  So I splurged and decided to buy it.  34 inch.  Everything standard.  Will get to try it out on the course on Thursday, can't wait.

The new Golo’s are great putters.  Have a 6.5.  Only issue I have is the glare on them.  I have to wear shades on a sunny day to putt bc it’s terrible.  Anyone have suggestions on how to reduce or where to send it to be coated/painted?

Just guessing but how about a Classic I XXX - for the 30th anniversary of the 1993 win that put Scotty on the map? He did a Classic I XX.

If you’re truly looking to refinish probably Bos.  Many of us asked for a dark finish for this release but alas…

Just picked up my Super Select Suareback 2. 

I am looking everywhere for compatible weights and everything I'm finding shows the 2018 squareback weights dont fit.

 

Can anyone guide me in the right direction?

Yes i was looking on there but. What thread size? Medium Large? Kinda hard to find the right ones!
