PXG Gen6? When?

I saw the pic of the Gen 6 before it was deleted. I wasn't a fan of the look. If can picture this on the silver, the black corners of the Gen 5, the black was connected all the way at the bottom. So corner to corner was a black "weight". If that makes sense. The area around the big weight was not raised or square.

This was probably a legit picture. My source has said it’s one color bar along the bottom and I took that to assume it’s all the same color, away with the two-tone. My bad for assuming incorrectly.

Even though I’m not a fan of the two colors, I still think the solid color across the bottom is better than my Gen 5s. Some have said there is not a T model. Any truth to that?

This would really upset me since that’s what I play. Haven’t heard that. The picture only showed the P and the XP.

I'm actually a fan of the Gen 5 look. I'm using Black elites. I'll have to see the Gen 6 in person as the pic with the one solid color at the bottom made it appear "cheap" looking. And yes, info told to me was the CB will replace the T.

Some rumors that the new 0317 cb will replace the T model. I agree it would be a shame to see the T removed.

PXG must be pissed off now that pics are somehow released.  Maybe they do intentionally to stir up interest.  I’ll decide w club in hand along w seeing numbers against my Gen 5.  I’m also considering Miura MC 502 which looks absolutely drool material along w new srixon.  I know this is off PXG thread a bit but something is happening at Titleist with them testing new metals.  Had interesting conversation w rep at our club and he said the new t100 and others this year  will be off the charts from anything they’ve done before.    The problem is they won’t be out until sept which is absurd so I dunno.

I would think the CB doesn't have enough pop to fully replace the T’s. I was hoping to combo them both. When i tested the 0317 ST’s The T’s had a little more ballspeed and launch. And i imagine the CB’s are the same as the ST’s for those metrics, just a little more forgiving.  
 

if this is true, then i hope they slim down the length/ offset on the P’s to be between the old P and the old T.

I agree. I'm sure that they will look good, but I think the Gen 5 Black heads are pretty sweet

The two tone is definitely polarizing. You either love it or hate it. Personally I hate it. I love all black irons, so the silver on them just ruins the look for me. Now it will be even more pronounced than last year.

 

 For anyone that missed the pic, think Titleist TMB, but even bigger with screws on the band all the way across.

Looks don't matter! If a club is designed well, it will perform, and that's all which matters. Most backsides of irons are hidden at address except for some GI versions. If you're seeing the backside of your irons, you've got a lot more to worry about than the look of your club.

That’s like saying “my car gets me from point A to B, that’s all that matters!” That’s not the way it works. People care what products look like.

Looks do matter to a lot of people though. It’s personal preference. Pride of ownership and all that stuff. 

I don’t see the outside of my car when I’m driving it, but I wouldn’t buy an ugly car (ah, beaten to it, typed too slow)
 

I’m convinced that a lot of people here enjoy the gear more than the game, and if that’s what they like then each to their own, I guess.

You're comparing apples to oranges. Vehicles aren't purchased to slam into walls on a continuous basis, products like golf clubs are, and thus people are less likely to care about looks of those products or their club purchases except for some here on Wrx it seems.

Well I'm definitely one of those "people" that care about the looks. Call it anal or whatever but it doesn't matter what it is. Vehicles, golf clubs, clothing, shoes or whatever. If I don't like the looks of it I won't own it.

 

That's the EXACT reason I got rid of the Gen 5 Black Elites and went back to the Gen 4 Xtreme Dark.

 

Gen 5's were just to "busy" looking for me.

I may have asked this earlier but any insights into Gen III SD wedges? I’m on my second set and after literally trying 20+ wedges, they have stayed in the bag. It’s the only set of irons that haven’t changed in 3 years.

The new SD wedges are still relatively new.. don’t think they would be replaced yet.. although, I would love to see a raw option added 🤤

Generally the manufacturer asks WRX to have them removed and a mod takes them down. If it is unreleased embargoed stuff WRX will respect the manufacturers wishes to keep their relationships strong.

I’m in the minority, but I like the look of the Gen 5 silver irons.  The black weights give it an industrial/ modern type of look that appeals to me.

 

I’d have to switch the silver weights out for black ones if I got the darkness version though.

That’s the problem. They aren’t weights, so you can’t change them out. It is just a different finish on that part of the club.

The black finish on my Gen 5's is actually starting to show wear.  Not happy about this.....Still the best set of irons I've ever had in my bag.  Going to take A LOT for me to change.  Lots of new stuff coming out now so we shall see.
